This is for KOTOR, one of my favorite games. I didn't know I could post reviews, thought I had to be a Complete member to have that privalege. Nevertheless, I thought I'd try it. I'm not perfectly happy with this review, but tell me what you think everyone. If you like it, please tick "trust review" thanks!!
I've always been interested in ancient chinese religion, it's steeped in history. the following is an excerpt from here:
Laozi ("Old Master," sixth or third century B.C.E.)
The concept of Dao is more often associated with the figure Laozi and the classic Dao de Jing (The Book of the Way and Its Power) than with Confucius. It is not certain whether they were contemporaries.
Their philosophies, though, are like two sides of a coin. Laozi emphasized harmony with the Dao-a referent to something that cannot be named-in order to achieve balance in life. To assist this process, Laozi
taught his followers the concepts of nonaction (wu wei) and shade and light (yin/yang-primordial, dynamic balancing of opposites). The principle of non-action meant that one should discern the natural
course of things and cooperate with that movement. Thus, if a person was good at making clothes, he or she shouldn't become a cook.
The concept of yin/yang reminded Laozi's students to look for the balancing forces of opposites and learn how to cooperate with and embody them. The teachings of Laozi and Confucius were not incorporated into a religious movement until the Han dynasty (206 B.C.E.-220 C.E.). The result was a mix of philosophy and religion. Over the centuries that followed, both Confucianism (Rujiao-the teachings of the scholars) and Daoism (Daojiao-the teaching of the Way) developed elaborate rituals and sacred writings. To this day the philosophies of Laozi and Confucius, and the religious movements their lives and teachings inspired, exist in vibrant forms in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese culture as well.

Yin and Yang, and the natural flow of events and life in this world particularly interest me. I'd been reading about Daoism, and between 6th and 3rd century b.c. this religion came to form. It is still known and practiced today, as part of modern buddhism, but it's teachings are almost completely lost. I've always wanted to visit Japan and China, and visit the monasteries and temples, and I'm particulalry interested in this religion.
To put the whole religion in some sort of context, think of this:
In the world there are millions and millions of different and animal and plant species. humans are just one of those. But with humans being far more advanced than all other beings in this world, their minds are usually clouded and they dont see what nature sees every day. Think of a forest, a perfect forest. And the tallest tree in that forest has had a branch broke. It has fallen to the ground and will now die, no longer being part of the tree. Most humans would see that as a mistake, a fault with the tree perhaps. Only the tree does not know about mistakes. Neither does the branch, or nature. That Branch that has died, will now become home to many types of insects, who help the forest grow. and life goes on. the tree wil grow a new branch, and while we in a similar situation would try and fix it, nature allows the course of action to happen, and the forest will now grow around the new insects home.
What I mean to say is, life happens. accept it and just go with the flow and your heart. it is much harder than one would think, as your head always tries to over take your heart. but your head usually only thinks of your best interests, and not those in our equivalent of the forest. so crime and misconduct, hate and terror fill the world. we let what happen, happen. listen to our heart, not our head. dont be filled with the nonsense that our greedy heads tell us about, and dont act the malice that our heads are telling us to do. just listen to our hearts, and do what your heart feels is best for you, and those around you.
action by non-action. the balance of life
It has been a long hard road. I have missed Gamespot and all of you. I have been offline for the last 6 weeks (but whos counting?) and I've suffered withdrawal. I recently got an upgrade on my computer, new mainboard, video card and tower. I got that done through the help of my father's friend, and then my modem just about died on me. I sent for a replacement, as it was still under warranty. The replacement came today, (I wasn't expecting it till next week), and I just got reconnected. This is the first site I've visited. Anyway, it's great to be back. What did I do these past 6 weeks? I rediscovered gaming. I had a few games lying around which I either replayed or tried to fully complete. Max Payne 2, Medal Of Honour (it's spelt that way here) Rising Sun, Rollercaoster Tycoon 2 triple Thrill Pack. I also bought GTA:SA and Halo 2. Also, it was my birthday on November 15, (I am now 22, shudder) and I recieved a copy of The Sims 2, which has had little playtime. If you must know what else I got, I got a pair of jeans and The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy DVD set. Anyway, thats my contribution for now. I'll check out the rest of the site.
As promised, the Second Chapter
CHAPTER 2
A) Fight with bare hands
The Gamer charges up his hands, rubbing ointment on them. Masked Foe, pulls off Mask. “My name is Psycho Mantis, I can read your every thought!”
“Really?” said Gamer. “Can you read this?”
“Noooooo!!!!!! You have discovered my weakness. NOOOO!!!!”
The Gamer Doubles Up and “butt-stomps” with his “farting bombs“, with his “Munch”, and a “Sonic Boom”. Who knew that the “Psycho” was gay. The Gamer was such a precocious person, he really should stop thinking about “Orange” that way. Inside “Wowser” Castle, The Gamer looks around. It appears to be a labyrinth of mazes and “death-traps” It was a "Warzone" he must “Command and Conquer”, if he was to find “Orange”.
MEANWHILE. . .
Orange was standing in her room, looking out the window. She could see the “Deer” getting “hunted“, someone was eating snakes, and, what was that guy doing feeling that other guys nuts! She turned away, trying to shut out the horror, only to see “dancing monkeys“. She screamed.
The Gamer had passed the Labyrinth and was going down a hallway. A window broke and in jumped 2 rabid dogs, with a thirst for his blood. This was a “state of emergency“, he must step into the “Killzone”. The Dogs stop and pause for a moment, then rear up on their hind legs. “Now personally” said the dog in a British accent, “I don’t think we’re getting paid enough”
“Yes, you’re right. The Company that produced are so…..”
“Cheap?” said The Gamer.
“Yes.” replied the Dog. “Other wise we’d be all throughout that “Haunted Mansion.”
“The “Playboy Mansion“?”
“No! And you are annoying me. It is “Rare” that I am “Grabbed By The Ghoulies” like that.”
"You must be having a "Bad Fur Day"" said the other dog. "Don't worry, it's a "Dog's Life""
The Dog brings the Gamer into his “Fatal Frame“. “Be prepared for Krush, Kill n Destroy!” The Gamer is worried. He turns to the Door, only to find a zombie ambling through it. He has no way to turn.
WHO DOES HE TAKE ON?
A) The Dogs?
B) The Zombie?
