What kinds of gamers would prefer the exclusives for each system?
I think you sum it up pretty good. There are three main groups of people (excluding fanboys) regarding the input lag and I'm gonna go ahead and surmise them with IMO.
1) Those who claim not to notice the lag at all. These people can only be described as n00bs. Any PC FPS purist who has ever picked up a controller has noticed a minor lag however minute in practically every console FPS compared to K+M. Killzone 2 is however much worse than any other I've encountered.
2)Those who see the lag and call it a design choice implemented for "realism." lolwut? Games can be made as realistic as possible in terms of graphics, sound, whatever, but when it comes to the actual controlling, you can't make the experience any more real because at the end of the day you're sitting in your living room holding a controller gawking at a television screen. Whatever, let's even let this slide, and just address the actual lag in context of "realism".
If you're holding a weighty gun in your hand you're gonna move it to the right to take someone out, you wouldn't pause for a moment which is exactly what happens in Killzone 2. It would be harder to move at first and would then swing faster. This would be more accurately represented by acceleration of movement speed rather than an immediate retarded pause every time you try to move a gun which are very different things. It's this minor pause in KZ2 which makes you never want to stop moving your gun when you're going for finer adjustments. It just shouldn't play like that and that's why the sniper rifle in KZ2 is the worst I've seen in any game. And now I'll bring in the other age old argument of how even the knife responds to the same retardation as the freaking bolt-gun; something's not right here.
3)Those who see the lag and call it lag. Yup, these are people like me and the TC. Before you call me a n00b and tell me to go back to COD4, I'd like to state for the jury that I've kicked this game's ass on elite. After all, I'm a gamer and I'll adapt if I think the game is worthwhile; which it is. Though overhyped, it's a damn good game with sick physics, AI (best I've ever seen), graphics and environments. Quite a few times my jawline was on the floor from how much crap was happening on screen and it's always great to throw grenades and watch Helghast fly (Bridge level says hai). Sadly though, that sacred realm of gameplay bliss was rarely attainable due to the retarded controls. Design choice or not, it's regretable.

With all the hype that this game got, I was really disapointed when I played the demo.
I've never seen a game try and get away with button lag which lets you move your arm to an extended position before your weapon actually fires, before you actually jump, or before you actually switch weapons.
Now I've heard that it was done intentionally to "simulate weight", but I'll argue against that.
First, I've gone shooting pistols before, and though the knockback from the shots might throw off my perception a bit, I'm pretty sure that bullet is on its way out of the barrel the moment I pull the trigger.
Even with that said though, it doesn't excuse the lag on the jumping, or any other action you perform (Since the lag affects everything you do, including turning.) The whole point of video gaming is to be a fun similation - your reaction should be the character on the screen's reaction. I argue that it's less realistic for your avatar to wait so long after you give it commands before it responds.
If they wanted jumping to "have weight" then they should have had you hold the button down whilst your character immediately makes the corresponding leg motions of lifting all the gear he's carrying as he makes the jump.
It's all very disapointing to me, because the online mode looked like fun based on the previews. Unless they fix this though, it's skippable.(I know that they released a patch, but I've heard reports that it only marginally reduced the lag.)

when u jump in real life..dont you bend down first then explode up...the animation in the game accounts for that movement.. just watch someone jump in multiplayer... as far as aiming and shooting. do u honestly think that u can spin 180 degrees with a 20lb assualt rifle and aim down the sights with pinpoint accuracy..if u do then u are a superhuman.... anything that has weight and is put in motion will try to stay in motion...newtons laws buddy so the call of duty ****precision of running, jumping in the ai,r and aiming at someone's head in a split second is close to impossible to pull off in the real world.. My opinion of why people take time out to whine is because they have no skill and rely on auto aim feautres (ex. call of duty) to be accurate shooters...
I'm not just referring to the sticks. Every input lags.[QUOTE="Abicus7"]Resident Evil 5 has perfect controls, are you kidding me? :| Resident Evil 5 controls are a whole other topic. But at least RE5's controls don't lag.Aftert playing RE5 for a few hours, KZ2's controls felt smooth as anything.

Are you Series TC? "button lag" is when you press a button, & the action appears on screen after (like .5-1) after you press it. When you shoot, does it shoot .5-1 sec after you press it? When you switch weapons, does the action to switch weapons start a little after you press the button? no you are just not used to an realistic game that includes weight.Faulttt
The input lags in the menus as well. Are menus supposed to have weight?
The level design isn't what bothered me though. The lvl in the demo is prolly the worst in the whole game IMO.
I dont notice any button lag. Theres just a wierd aim/look acceleration when you move around but that problem can be fixed by ajusting sensitivy from the options.
Awesome SP ! bit disappointed in the MP but only tried it once for 5min so far.

Never suggested that. But I did think the opposite.Your town = the whole world.

But of all the consoles, the Wii is the only one that could pull it off. Honestly, that's the kind of game that should be on the Wii, not games that could otherwise be done on the more powerful systems just with added motion control gimmicks.hmmm... well I got it on Steam for $5.
Pretty pathetic if it's the best game on the Wii.

I didn't like Super Mario Galaxy that much.Better than Super Mario Galaxy? :o
