I don't know, but there aren't any known differences between 2GB and 4GB on any game on XP. You can check benchmarks if you'd like. He could be running Vista though - and then it'd make sense.GodLovesDead
[QUOTE="comstrikeiscool"]Are you running xp and how big is your monitor with what resolution?NathanDrake
Vista and 1440x900 I think...it's 19" widescreen
Reading the OP's posts helps.
We've already established the fact that ram will not improve FPS in a game. What it DOES do is stop the choppiness caused by queuing of the hard drive, which will cause a temporary drop in FPS or short halt in the game.
Crysis sucks as a game anyhow.
[QUOTE="muirplayer"]If CRT's came in widescreen I'g go CRT. Better on the[QUOTE="Jd1680a"]To the OP
Do yourself a favor and get a widescreen LCD. No really, you really should get a LCD monitor. It is easier on your eyes, save you money on eletricity and desk space. Games just look so much better on a widescreen monitor then a CRT.

I don't really see how LCD's are better on your eyes at all... The image quality may be a lot better but they fail when it comes to refresh rates.
If you get a good enough CRT, the image isn't even worse than an LCD. Oftentimes it's actually better. Plus, you have more resolution options on a CRT. Refresh rates aren't really a concern anymore, as most decent monitors will have a response time of less than 8ms, which makes it basically undetectable to the human eye.Either way, I'm pretty sure the topic creator meant his video card, not his monitor. Acronyms are tough sometimes.
I'm not sure what the response time has to do with refreshrate. I haven't seen any relation between the two. Low refreshrate on both CRT and LCD give the same effect during games; torn images as long as there's motion on screen. Very noticeable ay any resolution. The only way to get ride of torn images is to use vertical sync, or set a max fps manually in your games to match the refresh rate, which is what vertical sync is anyway, but automatically done. The LCD doesn't bash your eyes though at lower refresh rates. I'm pretty sure though that most of us knew or know that monitors don't affect how many fps you get. The OP wasn't sure if it did or not.
