I like TC's 1st ones.

For X360...The Bourne Conspiracy. Considered it a very nice 1st game and still play it!

For X1...Alien: Isolation, Advanced Warfare and Forza 5. I like to say Alien, because it was the number 1 game I wanted to get my X1 with, but I ended up throwing in the other 2 as well when I went to buy.

Doom 3, sweet. Just playing it on my X360. And it's a blessing for the Rainbow Six Vegas games. Hopefully, it breathes extra life into them. Officially my Most Played X360 game, Vegas 2. And it has one of the most loyal communities. Now, it gets to live on.

When Fallout 4 was coming out, it was treated as the 2nd coming of Jesus. Now, everyone seems kind of...quiet. No clear opinions heard either. There's just this...silence. My apologies, I don't keep myself up to date with gaming news, I focus on enjoying the games, but that's just what it seems like to me.

Ehh, the spaces between the games...can never figure out how to avoid the extra spaces.

I switched my X1 to Japanese region/language. For studying the language mainly. My X1(together with the Kinect and games that have been dubbed in a bunch of different languages) has been a good buddy for learning languages while enjoying myself at the same time. And of course, you can get access to Japanese-exclusive games and sometimes, the free games are also different in Japan. But what I noticed is how different the Most Played list is(which is usually above the bottom one).

1.Madden NFL 15

2.Viva Piñata

3.Banjo-Kazooie

4.Zoo Tycoon

5.Perfect Dark Zero

6.Kinect Sports Rivals Demo

7.Fantasia Music Evolved

8.Killer Instinct Classic

9.Kinect Sports Rivals Hub

We've all seen what's on our Most Played list, right? Not a single one of these games is on ours...and vice versa. They sure have an interesting taste. Well, I like seeing Perfect Dark Zero on there :) Nice that it's this popular in Japan.

I'm about to upgrade, but I was wondering why so many games ran like crap on my old PC when even recommended requirements appeared to be met. Maybe this will help me understand hardware a little better too.

My old PC specs are:

Windows XP

Intel Celeron 2.60Ghz

Radeon HD 3450 512MB

2GB RAM

Many games ran well, but here are a few examples that didn't. Low settings were recommended settings for games like Battlefield 2. And yet looking at requirements, it even looked like it met recommended. Did I miss something? Counter-Strike Source became unplayable when there were more than 5 bots. Also, Command&Conquer 3 got slow pretty fast. Need for Speed Carbon was a bit slow. A game like Rainbow Six 3 was perfectly playable, but simply didn't have that top-class framerate. Unreal Tournament 2004 was also perfectly playable, but became laggy when the amount of bots was close to max. Red Orchestra 1 was pretty slow and a game like Vampire - Bloodlines got slow in outside areas.

Could someone have a look at these games and tell me why my PC wasn't able to run them perfectly? I'd like to understand this a bit more. It will also be interesting to try these games out on my new PC for comparison.

@horgen: I'm not sure about the size of the monitor, but it can apparently do widescreen in Garry's Mod.

I don't want to go wrong with the CPU. I heard more cores is not always more powerful. And the Intel one has less Ghz... And then I heard about some games not making use of multiple cores... But well, I bet I still know the least from anyone around here.

Yes, any game I'd be using it for would at least be 5 years old most of the time. I have a Radeon HD 3450 512MB in my old PC if that's any better, though. But I may look for something better if I run into problems.

I'm looking for a PC that could run older games well. 5-15 years old. I also like the old Source engine a lot, so I'm looking for something that could handle that well. And I use Garry's Mod a lot. There's this mod for it, called the Life Mod that apparently has all kinds of badass visual settings for it. But all advanced tabs are locked for me. Perhaps because my PC is too old.

I'm looking at these:

Windows 8.1 Bing

AMD Dual Core A4-4020 3.2-3.4Ghz

AMD Radeon HD 7480D 2GB

4GB RAM

Windows 8.1 64bit

Intel Celeron Quad Core J1900 2-2.4Ghz

AMD Radeon R5 235 1GB

4GB RAM

Which one is better? I haven't heard much good about Celeron processors...so I don't know about that one. Also, I don't need a badass gaming PC. I mostly play on consoles. But I used to be a PC gamer until the console bug bit me, so there are some old PC favorites. I could just use something that could handle the games I like going back to.

Extra question...how do I go about achieving higher resolutions in Garry's Mod? Currently, 1024x1280 something is as high as I can go. Does it depend on the game, the PC, the monitor...?

EDIT: Sorry, got those crazy spaces between the specs and editing won't remove them.
