Top 10 2008

This is my personal top ten. I only own a 360, so these are all 360 games

10. Topspin 3- Great tennis game. I really enjoyed the new swing system but it got to a point where if you got the system down, you got it down, you realy couldnt get better at it after a certain point and it made online matches boring after a while. overall though i thought it was really impressive and a good overall package.

9. Battlefield Bad Company

8. Ninja Gaiden 2

7. Fable 2

6. NHL 09-This was probably the best sports game ive ever played. really realistic and its just so damn fun. the gameplay is tight and everything just came together so well w/ nhl 09. cant wait to see what 2010 has to offer.

5. Call of Duty World at War

4. Fallout 3

3. GTA 4

2. Prince of Persia- This game is realy underrated in my opinion. Is it easy? yea. but its the best single player experience Ive had in a long time. The level design is almost perfect and the graphics are absolutly beautiful.

1. Gears of War 2 - A lot of ppl are ripping on this game about the matchmaking and such but as someone who didnt play too much of the first gears, the second really amazed me. easily teh best mp experience since cod4. The campaign was also fantastic w/ the different levels and such and i loved the pacing of teh campaign. this was the game of the year for me.

Biggest Dissapointment - Too Human

This game was just flat out broken. Some things just flat out did not make sense at all. The combat was flat and it just was not taht interesting.

Gamespot reaches an all time low

gamespot was always kinda shady w/ their reviews but wow, the goty nominees are just flat out pathetic. no gears 2? no super smash? no little big planet? no dead space? your have got to be kidding me. i mean the list is just so sad. if they had missed one of the four games i mentioned it woulda been bad already but all four? dang.

michigan weather

4 days ago i went outside in a tshirt and shorts. it was so hot. i thought to myself "this is sweet, it was freezing last week and now i can go outside w/ a tshirt and shorts."

that was 4 days ago. im writing this in the study lounge. theres a window to my right. i look out... and its snowing.

i hate michigan weather

Gears 2 is Awesome

I didnt really like the first all that much but Gears 2 is just awesome. havent played much of the campaign but its been fun so far. the online mp is awesome, love all the new modes and maps. the one thing thats kinda sux though is how it takes like 5 minutes to get a match. other than that this is a must buy

Gears of War 2

I picked it up toda and have been playing for the last hour. its impressive but it hasnt blown me away.... yet. ill prbly play this all night.. screw studying.

Fallout 3 Early Impressions

When I first got my 360 one of the first games that got my attention was oblivion. everyone talked about it and it got excellent reviews. it was a great game in a huge world so it had to be great right? well for me, it wasnt. the world really didnt amaze me. imo it was just a ton of grass, a city, grass, deer, crabs, city etc. the environment really didnt impress me and honestly i thought the whole first person hacking sucked. real bad. i bought that game twice and sold it twice (after giving it another chance).

So when fallout 3 was announced it actually really grabbed my attention. the main thing that drew me in was the combat. i hated oblivions combat and i thought the fps style combat would be sweet in a open world style game after seeing review though i was turned off again as many readers were saying that it was just like oblivion, if u didnt like oblivion, u wouldnt like fallout.

well i ended up getting fallout basically for nothing (previous blog) and after 3 hours in i am very satisfied. i can see what the oblivion players were so excited about. the game is huge but imo, unlike oblivion theres a alot more quests. the world is also way better. instead of just a bunch of deer in a grassy meadow, u have mutated dogs, mutants and just weird monsters. the enviroment is beautiful and the whole nuclear world is really well done.

another thing that really impressed me is the combat. it does not have the greatest fps elements but it works. the vats system though is where it really shines. im sure u guys all know what it is, u pause the game basically, pick out where u wanna shoot or hit and press a. then u watch a clip of ur character in combat. i always saw this as a cheap way of fighting but it actually works well. u have limited access to it as u have a bar that goes down everytime u use it (AP- i think) and often early in the game, u will miss. the percentages targeted on the body parts are actually really accurate.

overall this game is great and i highly recommend it to anyone remotly interested in video games. and not only was the combat/world better than oblivion but the overall graphics look better and the voice acting is the best ive herad in a long time. now i just have to play some more....

My Best Gamestop Experience Yet

AFter Debating whether or not to trade in a handful of games i finally gave in. I decided i would trade in Ninja Gaiden 2, UT3, Burnout Paradise, Topspin 3, Crisis Core, Tekken Psp, Virtua Tennis PSP, and American Wedding. I only expected around 40-50 dollars going into gamestop. then i saw the 19.99 w/ 2 trades for fallout 3. That was sweet, i mean the game just came out and they already have a deal for it? so i thought, hmm, maybe ill leave w/ fallout today. So after giving the gamestop dude all my games he starts giving me a bunch of discounts. i got the edge gamer one, the 19.99 one and after like a minute he comes up with a total of 101 dollars. ONE HUNDRED AND ONE. it was freaking amazed. i thought at most it would have been like 60. so i decided to buy fallout 3 and i put the rest of the money (37 bux) onto gears 2. it was a really good day i mean i basically made 50 bux off those discounts. usually gamestop usually tries to rip me off as much as possible but this guy seriously gave me every discount possible. it was sweet.

and yea i know im bad at telling stories.. im tired.. lol

Fallout 3?

I was always planning on getting fallout 3 but after reading a ton of negative reader comments im not sure nemore. i was never that big on oblivion and it looks like fallout is essentially the same thing. i mean critics keep saying it isnt but readers and gamers say it is.

it looks like the only games ill be getting this year are left 4 dead and gears of war 2. im in college, and really low on money. and so far.. so far fallout 3 really hasnt impressed me as much as i thought it would.

Fable 2 Early Impressions

well my roomate and i got fable 2 yesterday and so far it has been great. combat is just really fun and surprisingly early to switch between guns, melee, and magic. Im prbly around 3-4 hours in and i havent even really started the main story yet. ive basically been just goin around killin ppl and buying stuff. I decided to be an evil female since my roomates bein a good male. i got the paragon achievement after like 2 hours lol.

yea i really cant think of too many things to talk about here. basically everything works pretty well so far except for co op where fighting is really the only reason to play co op. o and if u wanna get experience fast, do co op on ur frieds file (split screen) get on, save the game, then go on a rave and kill everyone. u get a lot of xp this way, then quit so ull get the xp. then quit outta the main file w/out saving. this way ull get a ton of xp. ur friend wont accomplish nething but its still fun.

IGN Reviews Fable 2

The review seemed pretty solid but the score is a little low imo. 8.8 is a legit score but for a game like fable 2 i expected at least a nine. a lot of sites gave it a 9- including ign uk (9.5) which is gonna give fable 2 a solid critic/metascore but i was kinda puzzled by ign as it talked about the game like it was just an avg rpg. i guess ill have to see for myself...

and im predicitng gamespot will give it a 9.0 or 8.5. they wont give it a 9.5 bc ign gave it an 8.8 and it seems like gamspot loves copying ign.
