Harddrive will work, and is your case any good? Might be better if you bought a new one. no need for a sound card, and if it's a quality 600w it will power it.Well on second thought, maybe building my own pc is a better idea.I really don't have that much free time but i already have alot of parts so why not try it. I have a not too old pc and i managed to salvage some parts from it.
I already have a case, dvd drive, hard drive but i formatted it so i don't really think it will work now will it?, and 8 gigs of ram
Also i've picked out a gtx 560 for $200, a z68 motherboard for $125, an intel core i5 2500k for $220 and a cpu cooler for $50 ( haven't bought yet, just picked out)
Now i still need some help here, Do i need a sound card or will that already be in the motherboard. Also i already have a 600 w psu but will that be able to power all that when im playing my games or will i need to get a better psu? And will that be all i need to make my own pc?

[QUOTE="ionusX"]$74.99 after MIR - ZOTAC GeForce GTS 450 1GB ;) Get this... Galaxy GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB... factory overclocked, but if you heatsink the IC's / VRM's for about $15, then you'll really be able to push the card.. the less cores, the less heat, so you should hit 1GHz easy after the you heatsink the VRM's.. he's australian so no newegg. We australians pay a lot more for computer parts. =.=if your willing to break your bduget by 5 dollars :

Go the 2500k/2600k, much better for gaming. 2x SLI is good, 3&4x sli doesn't scale aswell. Just saved you a decent chunk of money. And get a 60g/120g SATA3 SSD will improve your boot times.I am thinking about building a new PC with high end hardware.
The components that I have chosen so far are:
1x Intel Core i7 990x
3x NVIDIA Geforce EVGA 580GTX
3x Corsair 4GB XMS3 DDR3 1600MHz RAM
2x 2TB Western Digital Black Caviar 7200RPM
1x Corsair H50 CPU Cooler
As you can see,I need help choosing the PSU,case and motherboard:P
I also have a few questions:
i) Will I need RAID controller cards?
ii) Will I have to buy a separate SLI bridge that can connect the three 580GTXs?
iii) If three graphics cards are in SLI,they will be really close and blow hot air on each other. What can I do to avoid that?
Help will be appreciated:D

you see im not the only one that says there is a huge differnce a 580 is a lot more powerful then a 6870...[QUOTE="V4LENT1NE"]
Well I sold my 4870s for a GTX 580 and its been one of my best upgrades, I can now play Shogun 2 on Max which I couldnt do smoothly on a 4870. I can play Crysis 2 now on Extreme Settings at 60fps, its damn awesome. And my 3D mark score went from 12,000 with 2 4870s to 17,700 with a single GTX 580, its a winner.
