Rpgs are my favourite genre and I'm not looking forward to any upcoming rpgs. Western RPGs are moving towards flashy, illusion of choice shooters and JRPGs suffered horribly because devs don't know how to escape the random battle era.

I have no plan on selling my ps3. I still have my ps2 and there are STILL games I want to play on that thing. I won't even consider getting a ps4 until its library proves to be larger and have more variety than the ps3s.
I'll probably just skip this generation entirely and wait for a more impressive hardware upgrade.
Not at all. I'm tired of political correctness. It's starting to get in the way of reality. "Strong female" protagonists aren't remotely interesting because they don't exist in real life: There's no way to relate to their characters and they're generally just portrayed as bossy bitches who I wouldn't tolerate irl.
If a game studio wants to make a game with no female characters, go right on ahead. As long as the game is fun I'll enjoy it. It's a shame that we can't keep social issues seperate from fucking video games meant for entertainment.
If you're looking for single player, play BF Bad Company 1. All the Battlefields after that have trash tier linear campaigns.
As for multiplayer, listen to someone else cause I've never gotten into it.
I'm currently playing ME2 on insanity to get the plat, and that has some dreadfully difficult sequences. However, at times I'll pause the game to check to see if the game's still on crushing because it feels way too easy. The difficulty spikes are pretty awful and it shows that the game wasn't meant to be played on insanity at ALL.
Honestly, I can't even recommend the game. Yes, it's hard, but it's not fun or rewarding. I've died more times to having a delayed and clunky sprint button (turning around and accelerating takes like 3 seconds; much rage has been caused by this) or the AI being completely retarded and standing up in cover (like Archangel). I've gotten to the point where I don't want to start missions because I know they won't be fun. Enemies are just walking bullet sponges. You can beat most of the battles by sitting back in cover firing a shot every once in a while.
The things I do for worthless trophies.
I voted CoD because I enjoyed Black Ops 1. I have no plans on buying another CoD game because they're all the same. Play one, play them all.
AC2 was fun for a while and AC Brotherhood got old real fast because it was the exact same shit with a tower defence mode.
I've always wanted to buy a fifa game because the multiplayer looks fun, but I"m completely turned off by the idea that I'll have to buy another copy the next year to keep up with the multiplayer community. This is the same reason why I don't want to buy another nba 2k game.
I don't care about the NHL and the few times I played NHL games I got annoyed because my friend kept tackling me. Felt wrong in a sports game.
The all-female tournament would be infinitely better if they just paid some hot chicks to play. At least then people might watch or care
"Battlefield: console: 15-20, PC: 18-30"
What? What's your reasoning behind the difference here?
Anyway, I sincerely doubt that game studios EVER try to target older audiences. They want the 8-17 crowd more than anything, but they're forced to slap on T or M ratings. If studios were honest and admitted that they want 10 year olds playing their ultra violent games (which they absolutely do for that $$$) they'd get ripped apart. Not many games have large concentrations of adults in them: games like WoW are an exception and that's most likely the result of subscription fees.
