san andreas is great game, but some stuf fis anoying, eg while im 'simulating' real life by driving around on the highway in las venturas,  then all of a sudden i have to go to san fierro beocs my hood is under attack.. other stuff like cops bumping into you and they blame you for that.. otherwise, san andreas is one hell of a great game.. you suddenly realise that vice city is sooo small...well, compared to san andreas it is. i really like flying the planes, but vice city is to small, and vice city has only 1 airport.

btw you can check out grandtheftauto.filefront.com they have some great mods, car addons, and other sweet stuff.

Im getting vista home premium, with AMD athlon 64 X2 dual core processor 4200+, 2.2Ghz. with 1GB ram, Nvidia Geforce 7500LE.. im pretty sure those specs should handle the jandle.

now im sure vista basic is crap. vista basic is very basic, and its UI is really bad. home premium, buisness and ultimate all have the AERO UI. and, Aero, is graphics hungry, and RAM hungry. but the way vista, as an OS, works with a lot CPU. vista basic has quite low minimum specs, mainly cos of its UI.

i think that vista running games around 1 year old and down will suffer framerates, where as newer games will work much better. the problem now is just patcing up games to get them running better on vista. also, alot of games are not compatable with Dx10, and thefore should be patched.  but the games being released now, in the last year or so, and in the future to come will be games made for vista, thefore vista is the way to go. it is Specs hungry, but lets just say give 6 months or so, and things should be better.
