@iwilleaturbrain They are killing hardcore games. Because of them, other companies are concentrating on making more casual games and making their system accessible to everyone. I like access but I want my hardcore games and new IPs. I can care less about motion controls. I can care less about a sequels. That is why I loved Sony's conference. New IPs galore and amazing looking ones at that. Nintendo just threw out new Mario and luigi games, a virtual themepark(UGH!), and zombie game that looks interesting but will probably fail.

@electrogremlin Art History 101: People started painting because they wanted to. They saw something in their mind or head and put it on a canvas thus making art. Yes, once the art starting becoming established, people commissioned the artists to create portraits. Those are products. Not art. Anything created for someone else is a PRODUCT. Why can't you understand this concept, dude? You are completely wrong. You have no argument.

Any new game that comes out has a gamer in mind. The developers are not making it for themselves. They are making it to sell. You can consider FREE games art because they are not making the game with the point of selling it. They are making it to entertain. THAT is art. Get it straight dude. Seriously.

@funguar It is on it's 7th year. What happened when the PS2 came out? PS1 lasted a couple more years and the same for PS2 when PS3 came out. So, 10 year cycle is still not a lie.

@electrogremlin No. Not because it is popular but because it started off as a good idea. FPS games have a long history. The template has not changed since Wolfinstein 3D but the features have. You got a level up system with the CoD franchise, you got a great multiplayer with the Halo franchise, and you will get more features to come until it is all played out. That is how it works. Not only because the consumer asks for it but because that is what works now. It is what sells and therefore proves my point that games are PRODUCTS.

@electrogremlin The game will still be scary but hey...do you want to pay $60 for a 12 hour single player or $60 for a 12hr single player AND CO-OP AND online play? More features=more bang for your buck=better product. Learn the formula and be less angry. Movies, music, books, and now games are a business. Get over it.

@electrogremlin A painting is a product?!? No. A painting is what the artist sees and creates on a canvas without any thought to the person looking at it. THAT is art. Creating something that you WANT to make for nobody else but yourself. Creating something for someone ELSE is a product. ipod, TV, a toaster, a washer/dryer. These are products because they were made with the CONSUMER IN MIND.

@Lotobarnes @electrogremlin They buy the same clone because consumers are stupid. Consumers are ones that bought a PET ROCK and you expect them all to make intelligent decisions? No. They buy the game because they want to play with their friends but every time they would want something different about it. So, my argument is valid. People are stupid and EA, Ubisoft, Activision know this. Why do you think CoD and Madden don't change? Because businessmen know how to market to idiots.

@electrogremlin This is the last time I'm going to respond to your idiocy. ME3 was made on a promise that your choices mattered and in the end, they didn't. So, the team that made ME1 and 2 made 3 and it came out the way they wanted. They screwed up a promise. Games are not art. They are products designed and sold to consumers. I went to school for GameArt. Trust me. It is not an Art. It doesn't matter how great your idea is, it needs to sell to a consumer. There is no such thing as a committee making decisions on games. It is the designers, producers, directors, and publishers that have say in it and ME3 was designed the way they intended. They just never realized so many fans would be pissed off at it.

@electrogremlin We didn't create this. The gaming industry did looking at games as a business and giving people what they THINK they want. If you ask ANY CoD fan, they will tell you features they WISH were in the game but they don't listen. It is not a world WE created. It is a world BUSINESSMEN created. Get your facts straight before you start yelling.

@electrogremlin No. All 3 were products. It was sold with the feature that everyone wanted and they didn't have the feature in the end. They sold a product that wasn't what they promised and that is why we are pissed.
