Not for the 2407wfp model.

24" panels are only made in S-PVA.

Yeah I wasn't referring to the 2407 when I said IPS, I was just giving an example of how cheap dell is.

I think the 2407 recently switched to a worse PVA panel than before, which means less accurate color.

The way Dell does these things is they release IPS versions to reviewers, and then later switch to cheaper and cheaper panels thinking no one is going to notice.

Update, OK it seems they're still using the good Samsung PVA, so that's a decent choice.

If you really want to ask the experts check out this forum.

In fact, just read through some of the recent threads there and you'll find what you're looking for.

Just make sure you never buy a TN panel, the horrible color will scar you for life. Oh yes, I learned the hard way.

Sorry, when I try to be reassuring I guess I sound condescending... -.-

As for Astaro, I believe it's a hardware firewall that you install onto a computer on your network, but don't quote me on that one.

I hear it's very good, maybe you can check it out.

I think all those scans are a bit overkill, AVG antivirus has very incomplete definitions IMO. I recently got rid of those three anti-spyware programs and just replaced them with the two I mentioned above, they seem to find everything and more.

I've heard the EVGA 320mb actually outperforms the 640 in some cases, so I wouldn't worry at all. As for 1440x900, you should be more than fine. Remember to hit up widescreen gaming for all your widescreen gaming needs. (lol that sounded like an ad)

It's alright man, everyone makes mistakes, don't beat yourself up.

As for a firewall I use ZoneAlarm free edition (:P ninja'd), although I think there are better alternatives.

It's a shame that MS bought out sysinternals, but there are some very useful utilities there concerning process management and rootkits, check 'em out.

In fact all the stuff Mark wrote was genius.

Yeah, definitely use Firefox 2 with noscript and adblock, best combination ever, it's so satisfying to see the ads just dissappear. I'm not a big fan of adblock plus, as the icon is as annoying as an ad itself, but look for the straight up adblock with no picture next to the description, now that's a quality extension.

No, I think there were PCI 9550s, but because of their rarity I bet it would be above his $50 price limit.

Update, yeah nevermind there were no PCI 9550s, there were a few accidentally listed as PCI

The best PCI offering from ATI is the x1300, but the ends do not justify the means.

I have the X-230s and I don't like them, way to bass-y and the sound is pretty washed out. Then again I'm a cheap audio freak.

As for those AL, they do seem expensive for what you're getting, but I always like to hear em before I buy em.

Check out your local electronics store and then hit up newegg

Just make sure you're not killing lsass.exe, that's an essential part of the Windows operating system.

It sometimes shows up as a virus if it is spelled with a capital "i" or is being injected, which is highly unlikely.

Don't get so worked up, just run the two scans I suggested and post a HJT log, I'll take a look

CTRL+ALT+DEL?

Or this

Might I reccomend ewido and superantispyware

The two best antispyware programs IMO, much better definitions than spybot and adaware.
