The game is going to be coming with an 18 cetificate (here in the UK) and that is for a good reason, one being to allow for content like this.
When I play games that have 'questionable moral content' I tend to play it through a couple of times so I can be a 'goodie' and a 'baddie' (goodie= not killing the 'good guys' or shooting them in the leg/arm etc. Baddie= shoot anything that moves) if the game allows you to choose if you 'need' to kill the people in question.
If that choice isn't available I have no second thought about PLAYING THROUGH THE GAME as laid out in front of me. After all I am a sane (some might question that) adult who is able to tell the difference between reality and fiction.
If after buying your young teenage child the game you are 'shocked' by the content. Look at the box and take a little interest in what your child is asking you to buy for them. You wouldn't buy an 18 movie for them so what makes it ok to buy them an 18 rated game?
As for adults that are 'offended' by such content or worried about how it will affect 'society', it was touched upon in an earlier post. Games allow me to do things I wouldn't dream of doing in real life and experience things in a safe, fun, disposable way.
Just because I've mowed down a squad of police with an M16 doesn't mean I have anymore intention of trying to live out that than I have ripping my face off and breathing fire onto someone I've just kicked the crap out of after playing Mortal Combat.
