@kartelas definitely not impossible but add the new improved graphics requirements , increased cpu capabilities, and an average developer team has to increase maybe 25% to be able to deliver game on time, this means increased costs (it also means that smaller studios will be left behind.).
So whats the point to deliver a game for a single system when all major systems run comparable cpus and porting is easy and profitable.
If thats the case then why even bother with a console and not buy a pc straight away?
first, sony spent millions of dollars developing cell and developers spent countless hours trying to learn to code for it, now sony just going to abandom cell for new architecture
with the new and powerful pc like architecture exclusive games will simply cost to much to develop, so expect a wave of pc ports and multiplatformers, so whats the point of buying a console then? unless you dont understand computers and booting windows is rocket science to you or you are poor you will buy a pc
I dont see the problem here, making a game cost money, making a game with good graphics on a low end console with custom cpu costs even more money, and a current gen of gaming is all about graphics, everybody wants good graphics, forget gameplay, graphics is the most important thing. Therefore you have to pay for it. $80-90 for a full game sounds about right.
