Anyone guesstimate if I will be able to play this game at high settings at least

Cpu : AMD Phantom dual core Black edition (oc'ed at 3.7 ghz)

Gpu : Evga 460 gtx

Ram: 4 gigs ddr2 (800 mhz)

Running on a 24 inch monitor at native resolution.

Any imput would be appreciated, i fully realize the specs have not been released. Just guess's are welcome as I do not know what to expect at all.

I purchased it from Steam when it was on sale for a couple bucks but haven't played it.......i tend to do that way too often.

When i did load it up though it seemed to look a little odd due to some compatibility issue with widescreen monitors or something..never got around to trouble shooting it.

Yeah, i find people will switch to the offensive side of things if given the chance to do so which is odd cause i actually prefer defending in this game. Either way it can be frustrating and unfun for everyone involved, do the people that do the steamrolling actually find it fun...i know i don't. I just find a new server when i get in a game with a bunch of switchers.

I hope when they do get around to patching the game they can somehow weed out all the recon ninja knifers that run around stabbing me all the while I unload a full clip into them as i watch them approach. It's either that or get one shot by them when they hit me in the toe. Either way i hate snipers and they are frickin everywhere. These jumpin melee tottin fools should go back to COD4.

I didn't play the beta version and i haven't run Fraps to test the frames per minute but i can tell you that the game is running like butter on my computer, with all high(not very high) settings. My pc is a dual core black edition overclocked to 3.6 ghz and a 9800 gt with 3 gigs of ram in Vista 32 bit OC. I have no hic ups or lag what so ever and the game looks beautiful even though i dont have it maxed out.

Not exactly what you are asking but I hope it helps a little.

Peace

Bad company 2 is a truly fantastic online shooter experience. The fact that it has classes and people are rewarded for playing their class effectively alone makes it better than most fps's. It has even taken over from my beloved TF2 this week for my online time share.

My modest Pc; a overclocked dual core (3.6ghz) with a 9800 gt runs the game on all high settings with no problems at all, and i assure you this game is nicer to look at then MW2.

My only gripes is the shear number of recon's(snipers) per match. Sniping and attacking doesn't really work in this game, sorry to all the people out there that think their skills can overcome the fact that 16 snipers will lose going up against an army of tanks, helecopters and mortar's. So, though this game as some warts (mostly the people playing it right now) it is by far better than the generic game that is MW2.

my steam account is mademan77

the only game i play online atm is TF2 and i always play medic. imagine that the only fps i play and i dont even get to shoot anyone.

My game list is getting out of control due to me not being able to say no to a good deal, long live steam and valve.

Thanks for the reply, i was thinking that is where i would be. I will get it for the pc anyways i figure due to the keyboard and mouse preference. I hope at 1600 X 1050 resolution the game will still look and perform well.

Hey there all, looking to get the Battlefield Bad company 2 game for the multiplayer awesomeness but was wondering how well i could handle it on my pc.

I have a Phenom Dual Core Black Editon CPU overclocked to 3.7 ghz

9800 gt GPU Overclocked to 660 Ghz on the Core CLock

4 gigs of DDR2 Ram

Vista 32 Bit OC

For reference: I can play Crysis on all high settings with no framerate issues. I also own a PS3 but would prefer the game for the PC if i can at least match the graphics i would normally get on the console version. What say you all, can i get med to high settings with my pc.

Peace

I have a 550 black edition and a gigabyte motherboard that allows me to overclock using multipliers. I tried to unlock the cores but unfortunately didn't get one that unlocks. So as an alternative, i purchased an Artic Cooler Freezer 64 heatsink and fan and it should arrive in a couple days. I've been doing some research on the potential for this chip and am shocked at some of the numbers im seeing. Some getting it stable up to 4.1 ghz is just astounding to me.

I'm not looking to push the chip to its limits, just looking to see if i can get some more juice out of it without putting it under too much strain. My cpu (with stock fan) idle temps right now is at 39-40 degrees and after playing 4 straight hrs of crysis my temps get up to 50 - 52 degrees. Im not looking to jack up the voltage too much on my chip, i mostly just want to use the multiplier to get to 3.7 -3.8ghz or so.

Do you guys think it will be possible with using the Arctic cooler after marker heatsink to keep my temps at a safe temperature. I don't think i have a problem with airflow, though it could be better.

My gpu is overclocked to 660 ghz from 600 stock and it can get up to 75 degrees after several hours of heavy gaming. (9800 gt.)

I have never overclocked anything, often just purchased the XXX edition of gpu's until i overclocked my 9800gt. It has worked flawlessly and has given me the sac to go ahead and try to overclock my AMD 550 BE. My first plan of action is to see how far i can go with just using the multiplier, no voltage boasts. If anyone has overclocked the 550 as a dual core can you give me some starting points. I plan to jump right in with a 18.5 multiplier to get it to 3.7. Will i need a voltage increase to get this stable, also will the arctic cooler be adequate in keeping it cool

peace
