Quick word. Project Natal; Motion controls in general.

All are blown out of porportion, and none will change gaming, or at least not me. Who has the living room space to be hopping around like that Natal video or how many of us need a virtual son when real ones are so much better. And who the eff is going to want to play the latest iteration of their favorite game standing up and waggling stuff? Halo 6; Shake it! anyone?I prefer all my gaming to be had curled up in my sofa, controller in hand, snacks at arms length, lights dimmed and volume loud. Thank you.

Final Fantasty Thirteen Oh mah gaaaadddd

So......about a year ago, after completing ff12, I came to the conclusion that i didnt enjoy it as much as ff10 because I watched too many gameplay vids and read too much info on ff12 before playin it as opposed to not knowning anything at all before playin ff10. So i said to myself that i would abstain from all FF13 infos untill the game resided in my hands but today, the temptation was to great, with the countdown on the FFXIII site up and every single gaming news site/blog posting articles on it, I snapped and just had to watch it. And now, i dont reget it at all, in fact it feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest, and replaced with hunger for moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee videos!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS AWESOMEEEE AAAAAAHHHHHHHH. Time to watch it 16 more times!! ^o^ bye!!

A PS3 for 49 quid , Technically.

So a few days ago, on what would almost seem like impulse, I bought a PS3 (!!) and paid a mere £49 in cash for a brand spankin' new Batman Begins Blu Ray bundle + Motorstorm2 and Resistance 2 free. I guess coffee shops do have their perks for it was vouchers i received from there (£250 worth for doing such a bang up job) that allowed such bargain sale and recession rape. I then bought GTA4 used and Tekken 5 DR online and have yet to touch Motorstorm or resistance. Its not that i dont want those games, oh no no, Im just savoring the moment, heck I still cant believe after coveting one for so long........I actually own one!

80gb not so backwards compatible one.

Things at work: Stuff that bugs me part 1 - Size

I work in a varied and unique environment, every day is something new and always exciting! Yep you guessed it, imma male gigo.....ok no i work in a coffee shop:lol:. Working in a coffe shop has its ups and downs and more downs and even more downs but im lucky to work in a mostly relaxed shop with cool managers. Working in at that place for the past 8 or so months has inadvertedly created a long list of things that piss me off -_-;. Today i vent my frustation at the first thing on that list - Size.

96.8% of all customers order in this manner.
Me: Hello Sir/Ma'am, what can I get you.
Customer: Yea lemme get a Cappucino......
Me:..........
Me: Medium or large b1tch!!?

Well of course i dont swear at them tho i would love too. Every customer seems to assume im psychic which annoys me EVERY time. Tip for the next time you order any drink that can vary in size; Specify a size or you WILL be mind gamed into spending more monies on a size you dont need.

An experiment in game journalism.

Nooo Im not gonna suddenly start reviewing games blinfolded En masse, Instead this is an experiment on the effect Game journalism has on ~my~ enjoyment of a certain game. The game in question; FFXIII. The experiement; Avoid all its exposure untill my very own hands on time. Why? Because way back when FFXII (12) was but an announcement, i scoured the web for any and all info on the game non stop and when gameplay videos and hands on impressions final started being posted I literally frikkin ate them up, watching gameplay vids over and over and over and over and every time getting more and more and more and MOAR~!! excited to the point i wanted to pop. Then i got my hands on the game and while the game was just as awesome as I'd hoped, there was a sense of been there done that with the more important stuff feeling old already. My enjoyment of the game was marred a bit. This only matters becauase of how much I enjoyed FFX (10). Before playing that game, the only information I had on it was the box art of Tidus standing in the sea  holding the Brotherhood sword. Im convinced that my lack of any knowledge of that game prior to playing it attributed to it greatness so imma try the same approach on FF13.

If it doesnt work Imma be kickin myself till FF14 screenshots hit the net.

Unable to resist.

So the original plan was to clear out my ps2 backlog before getting a ps3 and/or 360 but that plan was quickly trounced with a banhammer when my friend brought over his 360 unexpectedly. I hooked it up, flipped the switch on the plug thingy and almost creamed my pants @_@, the differnece was staggering and awe inducing goin from composite to component in halo3. Suffice to say my ps2 backlog has taken a back seat. I completed Gears of War 1 last week and am currently steeped in the surprisingly deep( and touching) story of Lost odyssey.

Oh backlog, i hardly knew thee....

Schweeeet

So my new 32" tv arrived yesterday and i been tinkering with it all day and night and man its more than Id hoped for. In the stores next to the 47 and 60 inch monsters it looked ~quite~ small, but here in my room its gorgeous!- and huge!! well at least compared to the dinky 15" crt that i had before.

I was afraid of getting a TV with severe input lag or horrible motion handling but all fears have been not just laid to rest, frikkin blasted to oblivion. Also of note is the cries of HDTV owners about the handling of SD material. Now i dunno if its just my forgiving nature but SD freeview is gorgeous and ps2 on basic Scart is while obviously not the best its Funktons better than my old tv.

If your in the market for a 32" 720p TV then you could do a helluva lot worst than my Sony KDL-32V4000. In other words, buy it, buy it now!!! before the price goes back up.

Now to finish up my ps2 backlog. Games i will be playing are; Odin sphere, Rogue Galaxy, God of war 2, Okami and maybe Shadow of colossus and Beyond good and evil. And my freind will eb loaning me his 360 at some point so i will be playing GeoW 1 Halo and Lost oddessy to start with. Ill get to the new releass when i no longer wonder about old titles.

Side note- Funny thing happened while tryin to update my now playin list. Apparently, Tenchu for PSP hasnt been released yet and gamespot wont let me move it to my collection. I must live in an alternate universe where it was released over here and i played it to death and then had it stolen from me. =/ - Tenchu: Time of Assasains - PSP

Back to the roots.

Ah the gamespot blog, oh how I've ignored thee since the Gerstman Gate, but now with my purchase of a new HDTV and accesories I shall be back into console gaming full force on a mountain pile of backlog games and posting my impressions on the games everyone has played already on a blog noone reads (maybe that will change).

I stopped console gaming after finishing FF12 like a year ago because i was convinced my 15" crt ruined the immersive feel. To avoid that happening anymore i simply stopped and instead played PC games cuz sadly my monitor is bigger than my tv. But any blockbuster title that would appear on consoles I avoided. I simply prefer consoles thats all.

Everyone wants to be a critic and as such.....everyone is unhappy.

I havent posted in while [since the whole kane and lips/lich/lime/lynch (sp?) ....thingy..] but Ive been noticing a trend for a few months now and i just feel the need to to spend my 2 cents.

Have you ever played a game and totally enjoyed it to the fullest, came on a gaming forum to discuss your love of the game only to see at least one person point out various flaws of that game that totally flew past your judgement simply because you were too busy doing what you spent $10 - $60 to do, which was to play a game, which was to be entertained. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I hate to see people force that opinion because they wanna sound smart and informed and totally ruin a game for themselves. I think game reviewers have one of the worst jobs ever. Recent case in point; i recently read a thread that basically boiled down to the player cringing everytime he turned on GTA4 simply because he could see thru the low res graphics and the false 720p and was up in arms about the bowl full of empty dreams that MS and Sony sold us at the advent of nex-gen and 1080p. If you cant see whats wrong with that statement then you have missed my point.

God of War PSP theme...... By me of course :p

Since the release of the psp theme maker, Ive been on and off working on a God of War theme for the psp, at one point I even lost all files I had, but since my internet conection at home has been cut Ive been forced to find new(old) ways of entertainment. Making a theme for the psp just so happens to require a lot of effort and time...*yippie* (at least the method I used for this theme did). So I bring to you the fruits of my labour borne from my complete and utter mind numbing boredom....:x
