youmustbetom here, I haven't posted here in forever because I don't visit Gamespot anymore.  Do any Nintendo fans anymore?  Gamespot is to Nintendo as Palestine is to Israel.  Does that POS Tom McShea still work here?

Anyway. Back to the rant.

Proxys seriously make online play incredibly unbalanced. The mine sweeper attachment doesn't even work. I'm tryin my hardest to grind my way to 56 the honorable way, but these F'ers using these proxys are making it hard.

Is it fair to Host Quit on someone who's spamming proxy's? I believe so, cause it's honestly just one shade away from hacking. I haven't yet though, but I'm gonna start justifying it. So if anybody who still plays GE reads this, know that I will host quit you if you CHEAT aka spam proxys.

You have been warned.

So I just recently got the Linksys WRT54GL and installed the Tomato firmware to better customize my wifi settings. I was wondering if there are any known settings to

1. Optimize wifi for the Wii and

2. Optimize wifi for the Wii U

I just ran a speed test for my Wii U and its downloading 10 mb/s, I should be getting 25 - 35 mb/s. And I don't even want to enter the browser to check my Wii's speed. Anybody know the best wifi settings for my Wii and Wii U?

Thanks

If you're running Comcast like I am, there's no two ways around it. Spend $100+ on a Motorola Surfboard Modem and get you either a good N capable, Gigabit Dlink, Netgear or Cisco Router. DO NOT GET ****** ANYTHING!!!!

I'm getting speeds of up to 34Down 8Up on my connection using this setup. Also, you need to check Comcast's Coverage in your area.nini200
Problem is I need to run phone from this thing too, are their any motorola surfboards that do phone and data support?

So I decided since my modem was pretty dang old that I'd switch it out and maybe it would better accomodate my Wii U.

Well I traded up for the SMCD3GNV Modem/Router from Comcast so I could do phone, internet, and wifi all from the same place.

Since I've switched I've run into a few hiccups, I've lost connect on BLOPS 2 a few times, It feels like I'm lagging pretty hard on Goldeneye for Wii- and I'm getting an unusual amount of Host Quits, and the downloads for Wii U are running a lot slower than they were than when I had the old modem.

I would buy my own modem but apparently it costs way extra to run phones out of my own modem through comcast.

I tried putting the modem into "bridge mode" so I could use my own router and the results not that different. Does anybody else have this modem in conjunction with their Wii U?

There's nothing to help

That's one of the flaws in how the Wiimote/sensor bar is designed

Jaysonguy

I will play IR shooters on Wii/WiiU no more forever.

So since the Wii U is finally HD, I now play plugged into my 65 inch TV...a TV that I sit less than 10 feet away from. The sensor bar has no problem with jitter as you can imagine, but it doesn't accurately work as a pointer- pointing to the sides is very inaccurate.

I've tried using a wireless extra range, extra long sensor bar. Didn't do much.

I tried modding my sensor bar by basically halfing its size. Didn't do much.

Anybody have a sure fire way to improve Wiimote pointing tracking when sitting too close to a big TV?

Eurocom may be out of touch with 360 owners and PS3 owners, but who cares about them, let them have their Halo and CoD, but Eurocom understands us Wii owners right? I know they do, they made Goldeneye for goodness sake, the only Wii game ive plaid 5 days a week for 2 years straight. Maybe the Wii U version will be the definitive version with features only us Wii fans can truly appreciate.

I'm not too familiar with the CoD controls for the Wii, I usually played Goldeneye for the Wii and the wii remote controls were awesome.  So far I am having a load of issues with the Wii remote controls in this game, especially during multiplayer.

  • Button response is delayed.  Could be lag but feels like Wii Remote Latency, it seems my gun shoots a second after I press b, etc.
  • The controls are insufficiently customizeable.  I can't get comfortable with the pointer controls.
  • General Lag.  I feel like no matter what happens I'm not killing enemies with a whole clip, and enemies are shooting the wall and killing me in the kill cam.

Right now I want so badly for this game to be fun, but I can't have fun when these issues esentially make it a broken experience for me.  Is there anybody else out there having these issues that may have an explanation or possible solution?

...then what the hell new is Nintendo pumping out between May and November??? It has almost nothing planned!!

The Wii basically has only two games left: Mario Party 9 and Xenoblade, which are both coming out by April.

All of the 3DS' killer games are coming out before the Summer as well.

I don't think Nintendo can afford to wait til the holiday season.....

[QUOTE="ngrodamus"]

We all know the Wii has sold more consoles and games than any other console, but that doesn't mean the Wii's getting any admiration from gamers.

JuarN18

I stopped reading there, why? angry fanboys on the internet or video game"journalists" are a very small and almost null percentage of the videogame demographic, if you don't know the difference between those why i'm going to read all the post?

Because you have an understanding of logic and respect to analyze an entire argument instead of responding in anger to a single statement....ohhhh guess not

If you are keen to the beliefs of that "small percentage", the fanboys and journalists, you'd understand that their actions are indicative of video games core audience. If journalists were so off-base and irrelevant, how would they have a job? If fanboys were so few and far between. why are there so many expos and conventions dedicated to their appeal? But apparently these two groups have no influence on any part of the videogame market? That makes sense. Go back, try reading my whole argument before you criticize another thing. Once you're done, read another article published by one of these irrelevant journalist (who i guess write articles for no one...) arguing what is only a single point of my argument: http://www.slashgear.com/is-nintendo-the-next-sega-31168582/
