@dark_rising76: That's exactly why this race to 4K is stupid af, and is the reason why 4K TVs are not in demand as heavily. Unless you play games 1 inch from your face, you can't tell the difference between 4K and 1080. VR has a point to this maybe, but so many people who don't understand pixels and resolution will buy this console and get pissed off when they see that 4K is just a marketing term to sell you the most beautiful image your eyes cannot even differentiate.
@nathanpro92: You sure about that? I remember Oculus saying their headset was $350 forever, only to raise it to $600 for reasons of "uncompromising, beefy hardware". Are there seriously any PCs that allow for 4K gaming that sell for under a grand? Show me. MS is trying to do what the Vive is doing now: making the best hardware available but pricing themselves out of the market. What makes you think a 4K Xbox will be $300-$500? These cards, chips and processors are not cheap. I can possibly see them going as low as $600, but after taxes you're looking at about $800 when it's all said and done. Add to the fact you know the next Xbox will be VR capable and they've been partners with Oculus beforehand, so add another $600 plus tax if you wanna VR. Shits gonna add up quick and most of us cannot afford to throw thousands of dollars at a machine that's bringing regurgitated sequels and weak new IPs.
And how much will this beast cost exactly? Nobody seems to really be talking about that. At this point, this console is simply a PC/Steam machine. Yet, how many PCs are beefy enough to run uncompressed 4K games, and how much are those PCs? I can't see this console being anything less than $1,000.
Add to the fact that MS just showed their cards to the world (Sony) with a release date that is basically a year and a half away, allowing their competition to see their specs and match or exceed them, once again making MS look obsolete and behind the times. 6 teraflops huh? Sony will have 7 even if it kills them. They will not lose because they can't, it's their strategy.
And with that said, the Neo, assuming it'll most likely be better than Scorpio, will cost even more. These consoles are slowly encroaching upon PC territory, making standalone game boxes kind of irrelevant these days. Not to mention what the average consumer will do or think when they finally save up for these things, only to have the Xbox 2 or PS5 be even more powerful a matter of months later.
I'm pleasantly surprised with this. Played the demo with a smile. So happy to see a fresh new look and play style. Scary. Immersive. VR looks seamless for this. All of you zombie idiots need to chill. I was 10 when RE came out. It's been 20 years of the same crap, plus like 10 movies. I think we've covered the T virus by now. Jesus. RE would always benefit I think by making it an anthology series of disparate stories. This looks like Texas Chainsaw and I like it. This is the first time I actually like playing RE since 4.
