Could be good drama... even great one.

My personal problem is, I cannot imagine Joker story... without Batman. They are, like, yin and yang. Like two sides of Two-face's face.

@thelostscribe: Snyder's personality aside, I prefer his Batman to Nolan's Batman.

I am well aware I am minority, but I wasn't such a fan of Nolan's trilogy. It has improved over previous couple of Batman flicks (by getting darker and more sinister, among other things) but I didn't like some of takes he made on iconic villains. Bane was too much toned down. Even Joker, as brilliantly played, wasn't The Joker in my mind. He was insane and ruthless, but he didn't have that mad genius of crime vibe. Neither of them had enough screen time, imho.

My favorite comics Batman was the one from Frank Miler... Return of the Dark Knight. So the Snyder's Batman has resonated with me the right way. He hasn't got super powers - he has to be ruthless and disable enemies as quickly and as brutally as he can. He doesn't have the comfort of knowing that his super-human powers will see him through. He is not strong enough to be generous. He doesn't look at crime from high above and contemplate which super power to use, he is fighting on street level, he has to fight quick and dirty and while he shouldn't go for kill by default, he should be going for making sure enemies he has taken down will not raise behind his back and end him while he is dealing with others. He will go for broken bones or other serious damage, but broken bone can end up being broken skull, neck or spine... and other disabling damages can end up deadly just as well - internal bleedings and other soft tissue damage caused by his sharp tools such as batarangs and "claws" on his underarms.

And his whole crime-fighting career is bent around revenge for his parents' death. He hasn't been formed by Mother Theresa.

Having good fun with co-op with friends. I would argue that game shouldn't be 9 with such a poor story, though. 9 is almost perfect. Lack of story is not almost perfect, far from it. But it still is enjoyable game, if you have people to play with. On my personal scale, it would be sitting between 7 and 8... at the moment (we are only couple of hours in it).

@jenovaschilld: I know what you are saying - but many parts of the world, ISPs still give dynamic IP to ADSL and VDSL residential users... like with my ISP here in New Zealand. If I turn off and back on my ADSL modem/router, my WAN IP will change. My internal (LAN) IP is set to DHCP so it will change as well, though I can easily give my gaming PC static IP outside of DHCP range... but that would be just address between my PC and my router.

I think that some local ISPs give static IP to residential customers, and some allow customers to request static IP... not sure about my ISP. I am not finding this too important while on ADSL. Once I get fibre (or move to address with available fibre), I think WAN address will be static by default.

But there's another problem in there. What if flatmates/siblings share Internet connection and play the same game on two computers? Banning WAN IP would disable all of them sitting behind same router. Software license key is more... personal :)

@jenovaschilld: Well, they can also ban specific license keys. First cheating caught, 7 days ban. Second cheating, a month ban. Etc. As long as they provide unique license key for each copy, it is easier than IP address, I think. Many people are still on dynamic IP.

Mind you, I do play most of my competitive on console. With all the controller mods and whatnot, still way less cheating. I can't say I have noticed obvious cheating on PS4, so far. Of course it might have been my observational skills, but I am under impression that, if there is cheating on consoles, it is much more subtle. I wish I could say the same on PC, but I cannot.

Not much excitement here, heh.

After close to 100 hours of RDR2 single player campaign, I am too saturated with Wild West to keep roaming in multiplayer. The only thing that might motivate me is some tight co-op missions and scenarios.

I'd like to see something like co-op mission where group of 4 has to escort coach through dangerous territory. Not just basic attacks from gangs or tribes on war path, but also dynamic events such as randomized ambush spots, AI enemies capable to roll rocks or cut trees to block the path... forcing team to defend while clearing road. Large wolf packs freaking horses. Wildfires? A lot of different elements that can but don't have to happen on each run. And different locations to traverse. Consider them equivalent to strikes or raids in other games.

Other scenarios with high level of mission elements that can be run into, triggered by players' actions or avoided (again, by different players' actions).

Gorgeous as it is, RDR2 world is, by historic necessity, much more bland than GTA world. We have different horses - but they don't really act that much different. We have a few coach types, but again. More visual than actual difference. We don't have abundance of really different cars, trucks, planes, helicopters, motorboats. We don't have abundance of weapons, no rocket launchers, no tanks and other armor we can wreck havoc in GTA. Because resources are much more limited, missions/quests have to be more finely crafted to play to available tools.

I wonder.

Time ago I have read somewhere that Anthem will have free DLC.

It sounded like EA is trying to avoid bad publicity that Destiny (others, too) have gathered by looking like crippled games with content removed (so that it can be sold later on as DLCs, even if they should have been part of the original game).

But I'm wondering if they have crippled game even further so that they can advertise the crap out of "free DLCs" that should have been released with the base game (that was already slim on content).

I have some hopes in The Division 2. Even if it isn't pushing visuals, TD1 was already good looking game. As long as they provide longer campaign, better endgame and improved loot, crafting and other RPG elements, I'p pretty sure my friends and I will get some good fun out of it.

Interesting responses here.

Regardless how good or bad Epic is, themselves... they are right here. Copyrights is one of the basic pillars of how western economy works, how people/companies who create something are protected... and while it is not perfect in its current form, it does keep us safe from flood of sub-par knock-offs.

If I buy Coke, regardless how unhealthy it is, I still want that Coke taste. I don't want any cola poured in poor imitation of Coke bottle/can. You can apply this to any brand/situation.

If Epic did breach others' copyrights, they should be taken to court as well... but it is not justification to breach their copyrights.

Info about campaign longevity and content would be more appreciated than this.
