best MMO on the market and considered by many MMO fans as the "new WOW" is Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn, with 5m subscribers up to date

and I didnt like FFXIII (nor most 3D FFs...),

FFXIV best gameplay is in the (endgame) raids and looting and its class action (very well balanced and with a high skill ceilings) ... besides its looks really gorgeous at times (areas, fight animations and gear)... and isnt too "japanophile" style-wise (compared to other J-RPGs with heavy anime styles, its still very west-ish for an FF)

but FFXIV starts of slow and simple, and only full takes off in the "endgame" content (extreme primals, 2nd & final coils of bahamut, crystal towers, ponnie farming, story take off, etc. etc)...., especially if your main class is a tank (then it really starts of simple

if you get FFXIV, dont rush to Heavensward, do the the 2nd & final coils (and extreme primals) first.. doing them after Heanvensward (when overgeared/unsynced only), ruins them.. and theyre still very good practice for later on in heavenward (first dps checks, tank swaps, etc..)

play Fallout 4 on the highest setting for game play and atmosphere reasons (plays like a survival game, you stealth more, search/collect more, epical "cat & mouse" fights occur, the tension of dying in such a dangerous/obsolete world is much stronger on the highest setting, you get panic feeling when bumping into a strong opponent etc.)

but it might feel too hard right at the start.. and you might think "oh, this is BS, the only difference is, I'm wasting more meds and ammo",

but once you get used to the game play change on the highest setting (the gameplay is slightly different and the way you approach things change), it gets evolves into a new experience (Bethesda games are build for the highest difficult settings and are very well balanced...., besides you save everywhere and anytime)

careful though..,the start might be a bit too difficult/frustrating on the highest setting, might be better to start on a high (not highest) setting to get used to F4s general gameplay/action, then after few hours, then switch to the highest..

get the full experience of this epical game on the highest setting (unlike games like the witcher, Bethesda games are really well balanced and fair on the highest setting and by far less frustrating than the witcher on the highest.., and fleeing /cat & mouse strats work in Fallout and are part of the gameplay on the highest)

Skyrim, Fallout 3 & NV were imo also best on the highest setting (just right at the start, some of them could have felt a bit too hard, but once used to the game mechanics a bit, they really take off on the highest)

The Wticher 3 compard too Skyrim (on the highest setting, with destruction magic and sealth bow)

Skyrim (on the highest setting, with destruction magic and sealth bow) >> almost any RPG except Dark Souls (and possibly F3/NV & ME/ME2) compared to back then

and then its Skyrim (on the highest setting, with destruction magic and sealth bow) >/= Dark Souls & F3/NV & ME/ME2 at the time (Skyrim OST and fresh winter beauty gives it the upper edge compared to Dark Souls, while ME/ME2 miss real exploring)

even if the Witcher 3 had some of the best story, characters and facial expresions up today, and is still a worthy GOTY 2015 candidate the overall package, gameplay (action), exploring, pace, quests, beauty, dungeons etc. etc. of Skyrim back then was too epcial (!!!).. (hell, ever since Skyrims "winter scenery" hit us, such winter/mountain sceneries in other games, movies etc. have become in, almost overused...)

Square-Enix is pushing, updating, balancing, polishing, expanding FFXIV on and on... (primal "extremre", new coils ect. ect..)

the mix of "very challenging" (coils 5-9) and "easy going" (fates, CT & ST) endgame content (with a very motivating gear/weapon upgrades and class system), nowonder more and more are saying, that FFXIV is developing into possibly the best MMO ever...(and it loooks gorgeous too.. its landscapes, gear/characters, ... even mounts)

just dont be fooled by its "medicore" mainstory and a few bland NPC characters during the "maingame", which is more like one long (and beautifull) tutorial... it takes off with the "endgame".. (which is FULL of things to do, master, collect ect. ect. ect..)

and because it (still) has a subrcription, Square-Enix is able to keep polishing and expanding FFXIV so well..., its way worth the subscritpion ammount...

check out my ablums/photos on Facebook "Rai TheNoblesse" for some "FFXIV" pics/impresssions (PS4)

1) Mario 3D World, Metro Last Light (hard),

2) The Last of Us (hard)

3) Fire Emblem: Awakening, Tales of Xillia, Zelda: Link Between Worlds, Zelda Wind Waker HD (hero),

4) Bioshock Infinite (hard), GTAV, Pokemon X/Y

5) Killzone Shadow Fall, DMC (hard), Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U)

(Pokemon X/Y moves up/down on the list the most, depending on how I play, what I catch/breed ect....., all others can move too, but not that much)

=>=>=> Metro Last Light, when played on hard has a somewhat overall more intens atmosphere, except for the a few clicker moments... and it's gameplay offers more variety....than The Last of Us on hard....while TLoU is a fresh franchise, it's too much of a mix of "Metro, ZombiU ect...", but with great acting/characters...

(just don't like the fact, that they're getting much so attention, when ZombiU didn't get any last year, which it deserved... even if it's simple-ish..)

=>=>=> Mario 3D World becomes epic, when hunting all the stars & co.....

=>=>=> Tales of Xillia is the best RPG of the year.. (FEA is a strategy game...), while Xenoblade Chronicles is still better than both.. (so is Skyrim..)

the motion controles are well implemented in the Gameplay and are accurate. Even a bit too accurate, making me move my whole arm for accurate movements (instead of easy slashing the controller from my wriste like with Zelda TP), SS controlles make me tired faster and when the going gets tough, it doesn't allways respond that well (when it gets chaotic, even if it's accually accurate)..,

so it's kind of two sided coin thing.. (more gameplay moments, but its tireing, and the most tension in the game isn't the fights but the controlles "making them respond the way I'd like")

_______

SS has more gameplay variety, thanx to the better motion controlles, but the momentum, atmosphere, sound, grafix stil are better in TP (and the action in TP was simpler but satisfying enough (if it were a bit more difficult) and not so tiring as SS's controlles

the sky theme is kind of empty in SS (even WW felt better)

_______

for the 25th Anniversary, I expected a better, more epic greater Zelda... (but can't expect it, since the TP team didnt do SS, Nintendo used a "second" team instead.., their first team is probably busy with the Wii U)

[QUOTE="ninboxstation"]

have to say, Skyward Sword is the "worst" Zelda ever.. (at least as far as I've played), so 75% isn't that off, and it's better to be criticise Nintendo a bit then saying "oh, masterpiece, epic" ect. when it's not!!

1) the Grafix look boring compared to Wind Waker or Twilight Princess (the grafix look like Rayman 3D)

2) the Gameplay lacks real momentum or "wow" effects

3) the worst Soundtrack ever in a Zelda Game (only the "flying" track is really good, but it sounds soo copied from one of Spielbergs movies)

4) the controlles tired me out faster (TP controlles felt easier)

5) the "sky" theme is boring (even WW pirate ship theme felt more interstin), with mosly cloudes around

6) the "new" stuff are normal-boring or not even well done (putting a marker on the map, why do you have to "pick it up" before you can move it? the "endurance" usage is kind of boring....)

7) why didn't Nintendo Zelda veterans make the 25th anniversary Zelda? why did Nintendo use they're "B-Team"?? (and not the same ones who made TP or WW?)

8) it's not a bad game, it's just not great and feels too outdated (not the technical grafix, but the whole gameplay)

9) anyone who's used to animés & mangas, wont really find the gestics/mimics, characters, story-telling anything speciall

10) starting to wonder, if Nintendo as lost their ability to make "blockbuster" Games after so many years of casual/party/mario games...

__

TP felt better during the first hours and had more atmosphere..., the most tension in SS is trying to get the controlles to resond the way you'd like then too

bbkkristian

All of those are very minor issues :|

some of those issues make the game..., the grafix & sound look/sound worse than TP (only the animations are better in SS), the whole artdesign AND gameplay have less "wow" moments and dont motivate as much as in the previous Zeldas,

the controlles are more complex, but the gameplay doens't rise as much as the controlles tire out (it tires out, having to move them with more momentum then like with the TP controlles, and the moves dont resond that well either)

__

dont understand, why some are giving 90-100% for this game, the previous Zeldas all really deserved that much, but not SS, not today (maybe a few years back), and I dont mean the technical limitations of the Wii

Xenoblad Chronicles is the Wii Game of the Year 2011, not Zelda, and that's a small scandle (25th anniversary of Zelda!! and it's not Wii Game of the Year, with no Mario or Metroid to compete it this year)...
