Some people dig campy b-movie games. The Simple 2000 Series (Earth Defense Force, Onechanbara, etc.) of games is very popular in Japan because of that. They're fun and shallow budget titles. Gametrailers and Gamespot both dug Earth Defense Force 2017 because of that.
