totally generic, poorly designed trash. i hate the series with a passion. played about halfway through gears2 and said **** it, i've got better things to do, like maybe slowly chewing off my own arm because thats about as fun as that game was. i honostly somehow enjoyed the first more than the craptacular 2nd, somehow...

i really REALLY hope gears isn't supposed to replace halo as MSs number 1. gears can't hold a ******* candle to anything halo related. hell, gears isn't fit to smell halos farts...

the hardware BY FAR. it seems to me the hardcore gamer has but one choice (outside of PC) and thats the ps3. its the only quality hardcore system on the market IMO. the 360 is a pile of junk built with discount parts and the wii, errr, i don't even know where to start with that one...

patches is another. finish the damn game before you release it! now, i am thankfull that devs are willing to fix things after release but these things should be ironed out before hand. i think 99% of games i've played this gen has been issued a patch.

my final one is ppls lowered standards. gears, nothing special about it at all, yet ppl praise it as the next coming of jesus. also the fact that it released with hardly any content is a slap in all of our faces. $60 for a 5hr sp and 3 modes for MP (which were all the damn same save for annex) is a joke. hell, the 360 in general shouldn't be selling a damn unit because of MSs shady practices (3rod, ripoff add ons, ect), yet ppl buy the thing. anyone with the least bit of love for our industry should boycott them imo. all 3 console makers pull some incredible BS but i gotta say MS is easily the worst. feel like taking my 3rd 360 out for some target practice with my mossburg 500 just to releave some tension :P

Name one single time when Sony or Nintendo showed up at a game conference and simlpy said "MGS/Mario is coming out this year" - no visuals or gameplay or anything - and the fanboys claim the gen is over, Nintendo/Sony have won the show and game of the year and will rule that year?

It's never happened. But it happens every time MS comes out, walks on stage, says "Halo" and then drops the mic on the floor and leaves. Lemmings declare E3 or whatever over, and MS won, and then gen is over for the competition.

I can understand hyping a game once we've SEEN it, but I've never in my life seen such an extreme fanboy reaction based on just announcing a release date, or showing a fake Halo Tattoo on an MS execs arm.
