My Top 25 movie picks of all time. Part III.

My Top 25 movie picks of all time. Part III.
Part I here / Part II here

Here is #11 to #15 in no particular order once again. I tried cutting the list down to only 10 favourite movies and place them in order from best to worse but was unable to, so here is my list of the first 25 movies which I remember (in 5 parts to avoid one big blog post) I am sure this list will change every so often when I remember liking a particular movie. I will comment a few days from now on why each film is in my top 25 list.

Apocalypse Now (1979) - Action | Adventure | Drama | War: During the on-going Vietnam War, Captain Willard is sent on a dangerous mission into Cambodia to assassinate a renegade Green Beret who has set himself up as a God among a local tribe.
(Redux Version: 50 min extra)

Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) - Action | Adventure: Archeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones is hired by the US government to find the Ark of the Covenant, before the Nazis...

Van Wilder (2002) - Comedy | Romance: The most popular kid on campus meets a beautiful journalist who makes him realize that maybe he's afraid to graduate.

The Siege of Firebase Gloria (1989) - War: A tough sergeant and his sidekick roll into a demoralized firebase and proceed to rebuild morale and fortifications in advance of the climactic battle with the VietCong.

Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (1982) - Action | Adventure | Sci-Fi | Thriller: Admiral Kirk's midlife crisis is interrupted by the return of an old enemy looking for revenge and a potentially destructive device.

Does anybody else use IMDB and go through a "6 degrees of separation" game with the actors/actresses of a favourite or particular movie they are watching to see who is who and what other movies they starred in? ie. was watching Bourne Identity and remembered seeing the main female character before, but couldn't place her, Franka Potente also played in Blow, another one of my favourite movies.

Office Space (1999) - Comedy | Crime | Romance :Comedic tale of company workers who hate their jobs and decide to rebel against their greedy boss.

Aliens (1986) - Action | Horror | Sci-Fi | Thriller: The planet from Alien (1979) has been colonized, but contact is lost. This time, the rescue team has mpressive firepower, enough?

The Fifth Element (1997) - In the colorful future, a cab driver unwittingly becomes the central figure in the search for a legendary cosmic weapon to keep vil and Mr Zorg at bay.

Full Metal Jacket (1987) - Action | Drama | Thriller | War: A pragmatic U.S. Marine observes the dehumanizing effects the Vietnam War has on his fellow marine recruits from their brutal basic training to the bloody street fighting set in 1968 Hue, Vietnam.

The Bourne Identity (2002) - Action | Adventure | Mystery | Thriller: A man is picked up by a fishing boat, bullet-riddled and without memory, then races to elude assassins and recover from amnesia.

Tim Hortons Roll up the rim to win

I will explain what this is before I rant about it.

Tim Hortons Inc. is a Canadian coffee-and-doughnut fast food restaurant chain. The store rapidly expanded across Canada to become the country's largest quick-service food chain.

From late February until early May of each year, Tim Hortons holds a very large marketing campaign called Roll Up The Rim to Win. Over thirty million prizes are distributed each year, ranging in value from vehicles to televisions, to store products. Customers determine if they have won prizes by unrolling the rim on their paper cup when they have finished their drink, revealing their luck underneath.

Has anyone ever won anythingworth more than a free donut or a coffee? If you look at the official rules here http://www.rolluptherimtowin.com/ there are supposed to be 1in 10 chances of winning. I purchase at least 2 coffees in the morning for my brother and myself. Some days, I would get upto 10 of them for of my employees and maybe buy a few more at around 15:00 coffee break. That's about a dozen chances a day and this year so far, I gotten 1 free coffee and 1 free donut. I really don't care much for the small prizes and really don't expect to win the car or big prize, but why do all these sweepstakes give out exaggerated percentages on winning? I guess it's an advertising gimmick to get coffee sales up during the slowest business months.

If you did win or personally knew someone who won something. Please post. Thanx.

Here's a funny prank pic of the sweepstakes.
