Lord of the Rings I-III extended cut

Hi my friends,

This week, I was watching the Lord of the Rings trilogy. No, not the theatrical versions, but the extended cuts. Even though the films are extended cut, the films are still rated PG-13 (US) for the content descriptors given before. Here are the reviews of them and things different from the theatrical versions.

The fellowship of the ring- The first chapter of the LOTR saga after the Hobbit. It tells the story on how Isildur (Aragorn's great-great grandfather) got the ring and how he was a complete *** to Elrond (Hugo Weaving) when he got the ring. Later on lead to short stories of the ring crossing paths with Gollum/Smeagol (Andy Serkis) and Bilbo Baggins (a Hobbit flashback). Decades later, Bilbo Baggins has a nephew to watch under the name of Frodo (Elijah Wood from Deep Impact, Happy Feet, and a new voiceover to the Spyro games). Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen from X-Men) returns to the shire. Bilbo leaves the Shire. Frodo gets the ring and leaves on a journey to Mordor with his gardener and best friend Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin from the Goonies and 50 first dates) and his two dumb friends Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippin/Perregrin Took (Billy Boyd). Later on meeting Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen form G.I. Jane), Legolas (Orlando Bloom from Pirates of the Carribean), and Gimli (John-Rhys Davies form Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark and Last Crusade).

Differences: Just extended scenes pretty much with more behind the scenes with Peter Jackson and his team. Also commentaries from the cast.

The Two Towers- After Boromir (Sean Bean from James Bond 007: Goldeneye and a voiceover from Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion) loses his life to try and protect Merry and Pippin in the last battle of the first film and having Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli finding the bumbling hobbits, Frodo and Sam leave on their own to Mordor and run into Gollum/Smeagol on the way. And it's also not so pleasent that Frodo and Sam get captured by Faramir (David Wenham), brother of Boromir. On Aragorn's side, he and his friends find Gandalf the White (Gandalf transformed after his fight with the Balrog in the first film and everyone else thought he was dead after that fall). Merry and Pippin escape to a forest with an ent, a living tree named Treebeard (voiced over by John Rhys-Davies).

Differences: A flashback where Boromir and Faramir reunite, but break up again due to their jerk father. More behind the scenes and commentaries.

The Return of the King- The final chapter in the LOTR saga. Smeagol gets Frodo and Sam closer to Mordor, but also fall into a trap with a giant spider named Shelob. On Aragorn's side, they find Merry and Pippin smoking tobacco and drinking near Saruman's (Christopher Lee) tower. Faramir gets sick and nearly gets burned alive with his father. Pippin serves as Faramir's father's slave. And Frodo and Sam finish off the evil by destroying the ring in Mt. Doom.

Differences: A scene where Legolas and Gimli have a drinking contest, Gimli gets drunk and Legolas wins. Also a scene where Saruman dies (that scene screenshot caused pretty big controversy all over New Zealand until the fim was shown). And pretty much the added stuff as mentioned before.

You'll probably ask if I cried on any scenes in the films. That answer is yes. I cried when Frodo left to the undying lands with Bilbo, Gandalf, Galadriel (Cate Blanchett), and Elrond. But in the book Sam, Legolas, and Gimli join him later. And my mom cried when Boromir died in the first film (she has a huge crush on Sean Bean).

Great trilogy, go for the extended versions. They follow the book more.

So much I want to talk about

Hi my friends,

To start, no I still don't have internet in my new apartment yet, but it won't be long now until I get it. When I get it, I'll post a blog that says something about me having it.

Now here are the other things I want to talk about

How much I miss Rare

Rareware used to be my favorite second party developer since the SNES and N64 days. But when Microsoft bought them, things have changed, and NOT in the good sense. Their games scores have gotten lower and not as good as most of their Nintendo games were. The last great games I played by them are below:

Perfect Dark originalGoldeneye 007

I really want an F-Zero Wii game

I loved F-Zero GX on the Gamecube. The game proved on how much further the Gamecube's graphics go and it was a very intense racer. If they could make an F-Zero Wii game, they could add Wii Wheel capabilites, a new story with Falcon and maybe some other racers like Rick Wheeler from GP Legend on the Gameboy Advance, and even better, Wifi connection online play. And they could still let us build our race craft from F-Zero GX.

My sister pwns me a lot in Street Fighter II on VC

She is really good with Chun-Li and Ryu, it isn't funny. She's 10 years old and beats me like crazy with those two. She'll refuse to play as anyone else because she'll either admit she sucks with other fighters or if she's scared of other fighters that's not Cammy, Fei Long, Chun-Li, Ken, or Ryu.

My moving is done

Yep, it's true. The only thing to wait for is our internet.

See ya in the next few days (hopefully earlier if I get my internet).

How I'm doing now.

Hi my friends,

I still don't have internet in my new apartment yet, but to let you all know Me, 255Utah, and eeveefan93 are doing fine. We got some old games we haven't touched for a while. I even got my old N64 and that still works. Moving is still in progress, but we're pretty much almost done.

If I have any reviews planned, I'll write 'em down on a piece of paper and write them on here as well.

See you guys later.

Important! I won't be at Gamespot for a while.

Hi my friends

I will not be at Gamespot for a while. I'm not planning to leave the site no, but the reason why I will not be on for a while is because I am moving to a new apartment. I'll still check on Gamespot and see you, but it won't be as often for a while.

Firstly, since I'm moving to a new apartment, I won't have internet for a while. How I'll still come on here is that my grandma will let me check on here and use the internet.

To those who just barely tracked me, don't expect me on to often. To those who have to do friend list cleanouts, don't take me off because I haven't been active. Moving is pretty important.

I will see you in a few days my friends.

SSB dosen't feel like a fighting game to me.

Hi my friends,

I was playing my fighting games lately and I somewhat have a feeling that SSB dosen't really feel like a fighter. Don't get me wrong, I am a huge SSB fan and Brawl is the best in the series, but none of the SSB games feel like a fighter to me. Here's what I mean.

The Stages- They all have a 2D platformer feel than an arena look like in say a classic Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, Street Fighter, etc.

The Mechanics- Now the physics are like a fighter, but always ringing out to win a fight can be boring after a while, where as the other kind of fighting game they could have a ringout, K.O., maybe even a perfect.

Overall, as I said before it dosen't feel like a fighter no matter what SSB game it is. I still love the game series, but they don't feel like fighting games.

The Eagles (the music band)

Hi my friends,

You've probably never heard of this band, it's called The Eagles. The kind a band is like a not to loud, not to soft rock band. They started around 1971, but they broke up around 1980, after that they got back together in 1994.

The band's history of members was kinda jumpy they added members, lost some, even kicked one off. Now the band members exists of four members under the names of:

Glenn Fey

Don Henley

Joe Walsh

Timothy Schmidt

In 2007, their newest album "Long road out of Eden" was released and was the number one album in six countries (United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, and Norway).

The Eagles overall, are one of the greatest bands ever. The only thing that got to me on the bad side is that their music is going to make an apperance in Guitar Hero: World Tour. That leaves me wondering if they're going to sell out. I also don't think their music is Guitar Hero worthy.

Also here are my top 3 songs by them:

Long road out of Eden- Now this song is really special. The setting of it is like this US soldier in Iraq asking himself "What the hell am I doing here?" and thinking of what he misses back home. Which is pretty much important to know in this day in age due to the wars in Afganistan and Iraq. Even in other war countries of the world. And how I think it's important is look on how the soldiers feel living through these hells.

Harry Potter 6 postponed until July 2009

Hi my friends,

Bad news for Harry Potter fans, the movie is postponed until July 2009. The game may get a postponage like the movie, but no word yet. Here's the link to where I found the news. My dad thinks they postponed it because of the strike, I know it's over but it looks like it's still hurting the TV and Movie industry.

Now I have two things to wait for in 2009 when it's movie and TV and it's Harry Potter 6 and Flight of the Conchords season 2.

Confession: I still buy Gamecube games.

Hi my friends,

Those two earlier blogs I wrote earlier today, forget they ever happened ok? They were bad. Now I have something to confess, I still buy Gamecube games.

You're probably saying "Nintendoboy16, the gamecube's time is done. Put it to rest." Well, it's kinda hard for me to put any of my Game systems to rest, unless if they break down or if my game system has backwards compatibility. The most recent Gamecube game I bought was Urbz: Sims in the City (I bought ti for $6, and it was worth it). And I still have some birthday money left to go see what game from last gen I can buy at a Gamestop or something like that, possibly another Gamecube or a Gameboy Advance game. I'm not sure.

My view on the olympics

Hi my friends,

This blog is about the olympics in general and what I think of them.

At first, I was always fascinated by the sports they play. I remember watching the Sydney, Australia games back in 2000. That got me way too excited for the next game. Then came the Salt Lake City games in my home state, Utah, in the US, back in 2002. That was a good show as well. I missed out on the 04-06 games.

This year is the Beijing 2008 games, and I don't why, but I'm not impressed by the games this year. I've been seeing quite lower scores than what I usually see in olymic games, (maybe that could be the reason), but right now the thing that amazed me so far that US swimmer, Michael Phelps, makes a new world record, according to "Deseret news", a newspaper only in Utah.

I don't know why, but maybe the olympics aren't my thing anymore. I know a lot of people still like it, but I'm not trying to offend anyone here. But maybe my opinion on the olympics may change by 2010, but I don't know.
