They are creative only when it comes to actual hardware. These guys are right in the sense that Nintendo really hasn't come out with any new IP in a VERY long time. Microsoft got GOW this gen, Sony got InFamous and Uncharted, but all Nintendo got was Boom Blox. The appeal of their new and creative hardware will die out without new and creative games. And Nintendo just doesn't have the audience to get third parties to do it for them.
@predatorGS You're right. We don't need another Virtual Boy. However, every journalist I've seen try it has had no complaints about the weights, so I'm just praying that it'll work out.
@pedrotaquelim I think that a local multiplayer with this would be kind of awkward. I hope that all the games are mainly a single-player (or online) experience. That's where this thing's potential is.
@Ravenlore_basic @Ravenlore_basic I'm still unclear about whether or not there's an actual box to go with this thing. Trying to cram all the tech onto that tiny thing on your face would be not only expensive, but heavy. I haven't really been following this but it seems almost like a PC accessory. Is this correct, or is it its own console?
@Gbullet The main problem with this thing is that EVRYTHING has to be in first-person. It would be weird if it wasn't. I'm having some fears, if the Oculus does well, that it'll be bombarded with repetitive COD ripoffs.
@poster012 @lucutisborg No, I can king of see lucutisborg's point about the eye damage thing. This machine is like sticking your head in front of a projector and flashing a movie right onto your eyeball. If you play it for a long time, it could really hurt you. I'll probably buy it anyway though. Screw vision! We have four other senses!
@kbzon312 @kothos You'll probably have a slight gameplay quirk that you'll have to get used to. The two images viewed onscreen appear as one to the viewer, because the brain takes the images from both eyes and combines them into one image. This is obviously clear to developers, so they'll make the left image a little left from where the actual game "things" are, and same goes for the right. My guess is that, because you'll only view the left image, the game might behave as if you're doing everything a little bit more to the right than it appears. Then again, I might also be completely wrong, and both images display the same thing.
