I think a lot of you are too young to remember when Atari was on top, then Nintendo, then Sega (well to me anyways) and then it was Sony. A little history lesson for those that birthed on the SNES or PS1.This would be seriously embarrassing for Microsoft since Sony went from nowhere to first place with the PlayStation. I can't imagine the 3rd Xbox console winning over fans if 360 fails, so Microsoft has ALOT riding on the success of the 360. I wish it the best of luck :D but its going to be hard to take down Sony who have been leading for a decade, to tell you the truth I see Wii having more of a chance to trump Sony.
what do you guys think ?

Pros: Got an early start
Cons: Got an early start.
Mario hands down, how many games is he in? How many of them are actually "relevant to any form of a plot" and he is actually a Hero? At least Solid Snake and Master Chief haven't been whored yet.MikazukinoyaibaWell actually both have or are appearing in fighting games (DOA4 and super smash nintendo mouth brawler or something?). Well unless Snake being in the fighting game was a hoax in which case Im wrong and so master chief has joined the ranks of whoredom with Mario. Now if there was a brawler with all of those characters... Oh, that would rule.
Master Chief imo.secretsaiyan007I feel the same way too.
[QUOTE="Firefly1jedi"][QUOTE="chrisdojo"]sony is a mistake :)-Maddog-
I have to agree...
Is that why they dominated 2 generations...yeah sure they are :roll:
I think its better to say they've made some mistakes. And as an FYI Nintendo dominated for 2 generations before Sony and got cocky with their 3rd party devs and sticking to cartridges rather than moving to cds. Lesson learned by them I think. Personally, if I could justify buying a PS3 for bluray I would. But at this time I don't watch enough adult movies (plenty of kiddy movies for the kids) to need one yet and I only have one HDTV and its not in the family room. So its still just a big luxury item to me.[QUOTE="2largeadults"][QUOTE="Tony_DiNozzo"]That proves nothing. Did the PS2 slim version prove the original PS2 flawed? Did the 2007 Toyota Camry prove the 2006 Toyota Camry flawed?SemiMaster
Analogies don't work though.
PS2 slimline version came out 48 months later.
And we've come to expect a new version of cars every year. Consoles are typically not updated every 12-18 months.
I suppose the PS2 that had the harddrive (can anyone say major flop?) and the updated disc drive that "stopped" discs from being eaten... literally... wasn't a rerelease or update of the console either?
No, that was planned to help reach 100 million units sold.
[QUOTE="Dire_Weasel"]I really thought that was Halo 2 for the first half of the video. :(REVENGEotSITH
Me too.
Me three. But I think its just testing the changes in halo 2. Either way I'm not a big Halo fan so it doesn't matter to me.Yeah, one of the reasons I got a N64 was because of the RPG line up on the SNES. But the line up on the N64 was dismal.PSX
Despite Nintendo being my favorite game developer, that didn't save the N64 from it's extremely slow library growth. The N64 just consisted of too many droughts between the great gems it had.
Further more the PSX stomped a mud hole in the N64's RPG line up. Hell even the lack luster Saturn did that, which is sad.
