How is it trolling? All the points I made except 2 of them are based on facts. The two opinions are reasonable as well. So is it trolling when a post list the negatives of a console? What's the point of this forum then if such a post can't exist?

After enjoying a less than impressive spike in sales, Xbox 360's weaknesses are starting to become more obvious:

1) In one week, the PS3 has just made up all lost ground Xbox 360 has gained during the last several weeks in Japan.

2) Gears of War 2 is the only exclusive AAA disk-based game on the 360. This is pathetic for a console that is 3 years old. Even worse, Gears of War 2 has scored lower than the first Gears.

3) RROD will soon become a major issue again. The 3 year warrantee will end soon. Real soon. The pain of having chosen the least reliable console ever made is clear. You will be on your own.

4) The PS3 has 3 more major AAA titles than Xbox 360: Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, and Bioshock. Apparently, with Valkaria Chronicals, the PS3 also has the best (highest rated--Metacritic, Gamerankings) JRPG as well.

5) Most TVs sold are now HD TVs, and the PS3 makes the most of an HD TV by offering HD gaming and HD Blu-ray movies.

6) Xbox 360 is trying to sell itself to the casuals. Unfortunately, this is like trying to sell a bad-tasting ice cream to an Eskimo. Xbox 360 lacks good casual games and require monthly fees just to play online. Most games are also 60 bucks.

7) The best HD game (highest rated) from Japan is MGS4, available only on the PS3. The best game from Europe- Little Big Planet and GTA4 are available on the PS3. The best game from America, Bioshock is now available on the PS3. So the PS3 has the best games from every territory. The same can't be said for Xbox 360.

8 ) Judging from vidoes shown, 2009, like 2008, seem to favor the PS3 over Xbox 360 again.

Thus, Xbox 360 has to face reality. It's best days are over. Gamers will soon know what it's like to buy the most unreliable console ever made. They have and will continue to see that the PS3 is the console to get for the most impressive exclusiving games.

I don't see how Microsoft's 2nd price cut in less than a month will do much good after the expected initial spike. As the shopping season gets underway, expect more sites like I4U to make recommendations of which consoles to buy. If I4U is any indication, the PS3 is gonna the preferred console of the press. I4U doesn't even mention that in 2008 the PS3, exclusives and multiplas are better on the PS3 over all. The quotes:

"Coming form a guy who has the Wii, the PS3, and the Xbox 360 I can tell you if I could only keep one console, the PS3 would be it.

Sure, the PS3 motion control system isn't as slick as the Wii's and the Xbox 360 has lots more games. However, the Ps3 can do something that none of the other game consoles can do -- play Blu0ray movies. The Ps3 is worth the price of admission for its Blu-ray playback alone. Throw in the fantastic graphics and great gaming capability and the PS3 is a winner. If a Blu-ray player is on the wish list for someone you love this holiday season, go for the PS3 instead of a dedicated Blu-ray player. "

*looks at sig* yea I would've never guess that coming from you.. :|

1. Show me some numbers representing all of Europe.. And don't use VGchartz because they have proven to be inaccurate time and time again.. only the sony supporters continue to use it... I'll wait.

You still need proof? Jesus. If you after all of this time you still need proof that the PS3 has been outselling the 360 in Europe then well, I guess ignorance is bliss.

2. Reliabity still remains to be an issue so that is a point well made..

3. The reason Multiplats are looking EQUAL on both platforms is because the companies have gotten use to the PS3's archetecture.. That says NOTHING for the quality of games being produced for each platform. Saying that the 360 is "inferior" because it doesn't have LBP is completely unfounded and lacks proof. You're clearly speaking from the fanboy within.. Even Kojima said that MGS4 could be released on the 360(after the fact).. You're a fool if you fall for that propaganda from these devs..

They are not equal in 2008. Read the honest reviews that are brave enough to say which versions are better. Overall, 2008 multiplats look or play better on the PS3.

4. Games looking and sounding worse? That has nothing to do with the space on the disc but rather the memory in the hardware (512 mb ram) and the CPU/GPU's. Don't tell me you believe that nonsense about bluray disc space being needed.

Did you read about Id's Carmack saying that Xbox 360's lack of Blu-ray will make his game look worse on the 360? It's a space issue. Uncompressed sounds are the best, and they take up a lot of space. Blu-ray is better for uncompressed sounds than DVD9. You don't keep with with gaming news that much, it seems.

5. So what about the ability to download thousands of movies through XBL/Netflicks? Yea bluray is a win for Sony but Live movies may counter that... You don't know at this point. So that line (along with many others) is just personal opinion, not fact.

The movies from LIVE/Netflicks don't have BD-Live and all have smaller resolutions and bit rates. They are worse than Blu-ray. Sony also has downloadable options as well as Blu-ray.

6. Live fee's... again another personal opinion.. Casual gamers could probably gives two ****'s about online gaming. The reason the 360 isn't hitting the casual crowd is the same reason the PS3 isn't hitting it... because the wii offers up an interface that's not intimidating to non-gamers.. and the games are simple not complicated. Neither the PS3 or the 360 has an abundance of "casual" games.. but I'll tell you this.. the 360 has more than the PS3 at this point and time.

Casual gamers definitely care about online if its free. The PS3 isn't hitting it because Sony is still selling the PS2 and the PS3 is still too expensive for the casuals to buy. In 2009 to 2010, you can expect the PS2 to die a slow death with the PS3 starting to pick up the PS2 casuals.

Why do you think most analysts predict the 360 will be the worst selling console this generation? Becasue they believe casuals won't buy the 360 in large enough numbers. The 360's price cut this holiday wont' make much of difference in changing the fact that the 360 is bound to lose the console war.

Why do you think analysts believe the PS3 will compete with the Wii for the largest install base? Because they think the PS3 will soon attract more and more casuals.

7. Upgrades... Are you *ing serious..??? TWO YEARS after being on the Market and the PS3 is STILL $500. And that's WITHOUT BC.. Atleast all the 360 sku's have that option if a gamer wants it. You're bashing the 360 about upgrades when Sony is stripping things out of the PS3... :|

When you get angry, make sure you do so with the right reasons. The PS3 is now $400. Backwards compatibilty isn't much of an issue. You can still buy the Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle that gives you compatibility. Sure, losing compatibilty sucks. But its not as bad as the 360 not being able to play Blu-ray and having expensive add-ons.

8. 1st and 2nd party Games.. Please tell me you were in a coma during E3 this year and I'll understand.. :| In The Movies, Viva 2, 1 vs 100, Avatars in games like Uno, Lips w/ motion controls, Banjo Nutz & Bolts... are you kidding?

If you think that Microsoft can compete with Sony in 1st and 2nd party games, then, like I said, you don't read gaming news much. Indeed ignorance is bliss.

9. Live's weakness in Large Multiplayer shooters... Um PDZ has 32(or 24) players online and that was a launch game.. :| Producers concentrait on lower numbers game types because it less hectic with console players. It has nothing to do with hardware limitations and you have no proof that it does.. PS3 has a number of MMO games coming out that may do great. But you can't see in the future to know that those games will succeed. M$ tried the MMO route with True Fantasy, PSOU and Square's FFXI.. it didn't turn out so hot.. So why would they invest money (that could be going towards the next big game), into another MMO project? Oh and did we forget about Huxley? How many players is that... oh yea 100!

PDZ sucks, gamplay wise and graphics wise. Huxley? Microsoft is running away from this game, apparently. No hype. No showing on the 360. Wonder why. Bad graphics and poor gameplay perhaps?

Microsoft isn't trying hard to do MMOs because of a conflict of interests; it doesn't want MMO players to complain about LIVE fees. It is also likely that MMOs on the 360 will look poor compare to the ones on the PS3. Did you look at Champions MMO on the 360? It looks really bad.

10. "Cool Factor"... seriously... no.. I mean come on... seriously.. :|

I am serious. If you understand marketing you would take it seriously too. Xbox 360 is losing its cool. Read my comments here in this thread. I dont' need to explain more.

You just answered my question for me with the long rant that followed.

In the real world, what would you say about a person who had the constant need to tout their supposed superiority over everyone else? You would say they had an inferiority complex right? See where this is headed?

Microsoft doesn't seem obligated to participate in the **** waving contest that Sony is so wrapped up in. For example, Resistance: Fall of Man and Gears of War launched at around the same time. Sony's most powerful launch title and exclusive against Microsoft's most powerful exclusive. While Resistance had the longer campaign, better story and bigger multiplayer, which one of the two received more accolades? To this very day, which one is played more often? I can tell you right now that it isn't Resistance.

Bigger isn't always better. I'll just leave it at that.

The_Game21x

Hehe. It's like you are throwing a rock and then run away. You can't just leave it at that.

Sony isn't making games just to make it big. They are making big games that look good and plays well. We'll just have to see.

Resistance was a PS3 launch game. Even though Epic is the best 360 developer around, I am willing to bet that Gears 2 will improve less over Gears 1 than Resistance 2 over Resistance 1.

Yes, bigger isn't always better. What if you can get bigger AND better at the same time? With the PS3 you are more likely to do that. That's why Sony is claiming the bigger is better territory. What is Mi9crosoft doing? Running away, without even throwing a stone.

Think a little , OK? Sony has been claiming all along that the PS3 is the most powerful console on the market. So it tries to make games that are big and technologically advanced: Big bosses, big mulitplayer shooters, most photorealisic, best animation, etc.

Graphically, only Metal Gear Solid 4 comes to my mind. And about the "big multiplayer shooters", are you talking about Resistance (that game that scored below 9, and was vastly surpassed by the 4vs4 matches of Gears)?

If it is up to the developers, then how come Microsoft's developers are not making games that can compete with Sony in those areas? It's not that Microsoft's developers are stupid. It's because no matter how smart they are, the can't make the 360 compete with the PS3 in the "BIG" and most technologically advanced games. I don't udnerstand why people here keep saying it's the developers and and not the console power that is responsible for technnolgical impressiveness. How many more games will the PS3 produce that is more technoglically impressive than any 360 games out there before everyone admits the PS3 is indeed more powerful?

Because nor you nor me are devs, so we have actually no exact idea of what can be done with either console.

Secondly, why devs aren't making big multiplayer games? Because smaller (and better) like Gears have proven to be more fun.

Why not giant bosses? Well, Resistance 2 is not even out, so not valid. Beyond that, that has nothing to do with the power of a console. Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) had the biggest bosses of any game last gen, and it was made in the less powerful console. That proves that one thing has nothing to do with the other.

IronBass

I am talking about maintaining good graphics while having big bosses, large-mulitplayers, and the like. You need to learn to think from the point of view of Microsoft and Sony. Even though Resistance 2, Killzone 2, MAG, the Agency, etc. aren't out yet, the fact that Sony is hyping those games and basically challenging Microsoft to compete in this area is saying a lot.

What is the most effective way for Microsoft to prove that its console is as powerful as Sony's? By competing with Sony head-on in producing the most technologically impressive games. Microsoft isn't competing. Are they afraid? Or do they know they will lose even if they try? Wise up, man.

Sure its still geting great games and has the best on-line. IronBass

Enough for being cool in the eyes of any non fanboy gamer.

I guess you can say it's cool for existing 360 owners who are stuck with the 360. But for people looking buy new consoles and compare the coolness factor, sorrry to disappoint you, but these people will more likely think the 360 is the least cool.

You claim to list all of the problems with the 360/PS3 while only concentraiting on the 360 problems (some of which don't even exist).

Looks like someone (who stated that everyone should take off their fanboy goggles), clearly had a spare set of cow goggles in his back pocket.. :|

OhSnapitz

Which problem with the 360 doesn't belong in my list? PLease tell. I am more than willing to include more PS3 problems as well. Tell me.

[QUOTE="ZOnikJJ"]This is a clearly biased analysis. Xbox 360 is losing its cool factor..... right. That's not an analysis at all.... GG.IronBass

Tell me why the 360 isn't losing its cool factor? I am sure you can't do so in a reasonable way. Try it.

It still getting great games, still stealing Sony-known games, still having the best online. Beyond that point, for every site you showed that says that a multiplat is better on the PS3, there's onther that says the same of the 360's version. Only a fanboy would claim such (irrelevant and almost nonexixtential) differences between multiplats.

Let me remind you that coolness is relative. Relative to its past. Relative to its competition. Relative to demand.

Sure its still geting great games and has the best on-line. Is cool to pay to play online when the PC, PS2, Wii, PS3, PSP, and DS all allow free on-line play? Taking Final Fantasy 13 isn't stealing. It's forced sharing. Link the site that says the multiplats I listed look or play better on the 360. I am pretty sure I can outdo you.

Overall you gave a few reasons why the 360 is still "cool". I listed 10 reasons why the 360 isn't cool. Who wins? In any case, when something is selling less than its competitors, not producing the most impressive games, not being able to play the latest HD movie format, and is more likely to breakdown, it's definitely not cool.
