Because fanboys don't care about scores as much if they don't get to rub it in someone's face. Gamespot in general has much more younger posters then sites such as Evil Avatar, VGevo, Penny-Arcade, and Neogaf and accordingly you see much more of an emphasis on hype threads and a fascination with review scores on exclusives because the 12-17 year olds on Gamespot think that their console affiliation is some sort of farm animal gang (i.e. "Yo, I hate sheep, why are us cows so much cooler") and they view the other "gangs" as rivals. And hate it when the ps3 gets a bad exclusive, because its a form of revenge.

I have both a ps3 and 360, but I dont understand why I prefer the ps3 so much over the 360.

Afraid? Lol. I just don't see how wasting 8 to 12 hours of my time in a rush of madness for a possibly faulty game system is worth the effort. Ordering online is different, that's fine, but actually waiting like that is just nonsense to people that have to make a living and don't have time for bs.

How often do next gen consoles come out? I don't see anything wrong with people wanting to wait in line for products they love and support. It's not like it's an everyday thing, it's more like once in a life time situation for most of these folks.

A 12 hour wait is not worse than buying a console like a Wii for double its price somewhere else and it's not worse than waiting and hunting down stores waiting for the next shipments that could last for almost half a year or so.
