Right, my bad, I mean some of old farts still think a casual piece of crap like diablo 2 is one of the pinnacle of gaming.

Or just remove the boobs, and turn it into a male torso. No one cares about a dead white guy

It seems like the only people who like this are people who are new to video games.

That is a lot of optimism from this guy regarding the steam box. I wonder how this steam box will turns out. A cheap limited PC with next gen console specs with the primary purpose of introducing steam to the living room and bringing all these casual PC exclusive indie games to more people? Or introduce an expensive power house that exceed the next gen consoles to the mass, at the same time allow all developers to push the technology forward and save the suffering PC gamers from consoles and its outdated hardware?

Will this steam box allow mods? If it does will they make it easy for the users to install the mods?

Will they ever try to introduce keyboard and mouse to the living room?

Will this steam box audience play all these RTS, MOBA and simulation games that are exclusive to PC in the living room and see them as an advantage over the other consoles?

How Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft will react to this? Produce and procure more exclusives for their platform perhaps?

Will it come before the next xbox and playstation and steal the hearts of the potential next gen console owners? Or after?

One thing for sure, the war of the console fanboys will get bigger with the addition of a new faction.

Take from Bloomberg

"THE ANALYSIS: Janney Capital markets analyst Tony Wible said news of this kind of technology emerged in 2005 before the launch of Sony's PlayStation 3 and sent GameStop shares tumbling. But the technology never appeared, showing that Sony knew that blocking games would be damaging to its business."

".....SHOWING THAT SONY KNEW THAT BLOCKING GAMES WOULD BE DAMAGING TO ITS BUSINESS."

"----But analysts said the move could cause problems for Sony, because it would put its gaming platform at a competitive disadvantage, eliminate its revenue from game rentals and possibly result in a consumer backlash."

This means nothing yet, go chew a can and calm yourselves.

A PC gamer does not necessarily equates to someone with a gaming PC. Whether you like it or not, a 12 years old kid who play exclusively league of legion and buy champions with his mother's credit card is considered as a PC gamer and he is part of all that growth.

Do you honestly think the number of people with a gaming PC will ever surpass the number of people with a console? If someone want to promote gaming PC to a wider audience, it will need to be affordable, accessible and easy to use, does that sound like anything familiar?

@ssj2los Great idea, this will work great for localization of games too. It is a shame that no one does it.

Second hand market doesn't exist on the consoles? When did I say that? I said with piracy and second hand marketing (which hinder console games sales), console games still sold more than PC games. What is so difficult to understand?

Why bother bringing up steam sales? Does it explain why rockstar would release GTA 5 on console first? You can brag all you want but the fact is GTA 5 is coming out on console first, and you should think about why without getting childish about it.

And well done for completely ignoring the main point of my post.

PC version will come out without a doubt, it is just that some of these self proclaimed PC gamers are a bunch of whiny entitled morons who think too highly of themselves. They don't care even if catering to them is not profitable for the company, they simply think that they are entitled to it.

With piracy and a large second hand market, console version of games still sold more than the PC version. Go ahead, bring up how much sales steam generates and how kickstarter managed to scammed in millions, because that totally explain how console is the leading platform for GTA 5.
