Personally, I think Gun Control is a horrible thing, because all it does is it takes the guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens. People who shouldn't have guns will always have guns. For instance, Columbine High School was in a gun free zone. So where the heck did those kids get their guns? Obviously law is not a deterrant for that sort of thing.
And if everyone had a gun on their person, crime rates would go down dramatically. Think about it; A guy walks in to rob a corner store (Carrying a gun), everyone in the store pulls out their gun, how much incentive does the robber have to continue doing what he intended?
So my argument is, Gun control isn't good, and we should defend the right as much as possible. If a government tries to control guns, that's the first step toward dictatorship. Democracy is a government where the people have the power, but the only real power in this world regardless of rhetoric is how much power you have in a violent situation, because when all things break that's what it comes down to - war. How awful would it be if the supposed leaders of our country couldn't defend themselves.

If you want a handgun, shotgun, or hunting rifle, by all means go ahead. However, the everyday-citizen doesn't need an assault weapon, a bucket full of grenades, or an RPG to protect themselves. I support the ban on those types of weaponry, as they are excessively deadly. I also disagree that everyone should have a gun on them at all times. I'm pretty sure the crime rate would actually go far up if that were the case.
