@lostn: They understand that. But part of the reason X1 didnt have games was because of the power. Thats what happened at the beginning of the gen. Developers were having to make the games in lower resolution for the X1 compared to the PS4.

Also, they have invested in more studios.

As far as salvaging this gen goes, thats already a lost cause.

What you dont seem to understand though is what MS did was actually brilliant. Since they cant reset the gen they can erase the gens all together. Thats been their plan all along. Their intention has always been to make the Xbox into a Steambox device from the beginning and its finally coming to fruition. Thats why they made Play Anywhere.

While Sony stays mired in the old style closed ecosystem, MS is basically merging into the PC side. They can do this because they make Windows and are slowly switching to UWP which the Xbox also uses.

For all practically purposes by 'next gen' the Xbox will just be a plug n play media PC, like a Surface device.

Its not just about the power, its also about all of the intangibles. The author of this article is semi-clueless. He doesnt mention most of the things about X1X the power. Its not just about power, its also about how the console was made and how it can make older games look and perform better even without the enhanced patches using supersampling. its about it having Dolby Atmos, HDMI 2.1 with built in freesync and VRR. Its about it having a 4K Bluray player. Its about it being fully backwards compatible. Its about it actually being a stronger machine tharts actually capable of performing with better mixed reality hardware in the future. And its about how developers can make games for it once and they dont have to recode them.

And its fairly obvious the writer is a Sony fanboy since this is an article supposedly about X1X but he spends most of it gushing about things he likes about the PS4.
