This article may help some people who are having trouble grasping quantum mechanics. This is the reason why Comstock was killed, not Booker and not both.
Booker traveled through a tear to get to the universe in which he became Comstock. The twins took him into the tear knowing that he would be the only one who could get Anna (elizabeth) back. Comstock, took Anna from Booker through a tear because he wanted someone to be his heir...and who better than his biological daughter. Comstock trapped her and kept her safe in fear that Booker would come after her since he tried to back out of the deal the very last second.
This is where I start to get fuzzy, but I assume that the twins took Booker into the tear and to Columbia because he was the only person who could make things right.
The trip back to rapture shows that through many tears there can be many different universes and many different story lines of the same people. For example in a different universe Andrew Ryan could have been Comstock, Atlas/Frank Fontaine could have been Booker, and Elizabeth could have been Jack. It shows the endless possibilities hence the title Bioshock INFINITE.
If youre not strapped for cash, buy it. Its a masterpeice of a game to own. Will take at most 15 hours to 100% probably. Story should take you 10-12 hours. Multiplayer is executed very poorly. THey have some cool multiplayer elements but overall its a throwaway.
After completing this game can you still free roam across the island? kill people and do side Tombs or get plantium trophy's? or do you have to start the game all over again?

Yes
Some people are lying through there teeth. If you play the game the way it's intended to be played (on hard your first time, not skipping cut scenes) and you don't hit a massive glitch, this is a 20 hour main campaign. It isn't too short of a game, but the replay value of hidden artifacts and some tiny tombs isn't doesn't add much.

Games arnt intended to be played on hard the first time. The customer segment of video game players has grow very large of the years and does not just include hardcore gaming anymore. The difficult level are for people that was more challenge in their games, but people play video games for more than challenges now. Some play video games to relax and enjoy an interactive story and those people dont enjoy dying all the time and having to reload checkpoints.
However, I agree that playing the game on hard adds length to the amount of hours you spend playing it. That does not necessarly mean that we are "lying through our teeth."
I would suggest clearing the area first. There are only a finite number of enemies during that segment. I had some trouble with this too but I got through it by dodging A LOT and the shotgun is your friend.
Yeah I agree, even the collecting ruins is fun for me. I love the fact that Lara has something to say about everything she finds it makes me want to find them all!
I was playing it for like 2hours and i had 7% so i was wondering if it was going to be short and all. I have 14% at the moment, i've just saved Roth from the wolves and about to head off to the radio tower. Mickeyminime
Yeah you still have a long way to go man, no worries!
I beat it in about 10-12 hours or so. I did all the optional tombs and did some side stuff (30%ish). I loved playing through this game, im gona go back and collect everything, it was very well done. Counting in all the side quests, I would say you could get about 15 hours or so out of the singleplayer.
Multiplayer is a mess. They have some cool mechanics but it was executed very poorly... I dont see myself playing that very long.
I believe the game is great at creating the illusion that your decisions matter, which works for me. The game on multiple occasions has made me feel like I am making major story decisions and just for that, I am totally okay with it. Anyway, if telltale had to make every decision you made very different than one another it would take then waaaayyy longer to release these episodes as they would have to write waaaayyy more story!
