I said the character selection screen looks like NES graphics, not the game. It's so generic and corny. Socom puts it to shame, and Socom doesn't even have great graphiccs. I played for about 4hrs today trying to like it, it's just repetative and NO different from any game out. That is FACT, not my opinion.

You don't gotta agree with me nor do I gotta explain my opinion to you about the other stuff I mentioned, I'm just not on R2's nutts. It's just predator aliens vs army men FPS simplistic shooter. Halo style. Got more to add to the description of the game? That it got soap bubble guns? A gun that shoots a saw blade? Shooting a floating space orbs? Every single teammate look IDENTICAL, I'm not even making that up. The army team all look like plain white army guys. The alien team all look like alien/predators? That make goofy sounds.

So .. CoD5 is going to be amazing because it's the same thing as CoD4 .. but Resistance 2 will suck because the game has crappy graphics? Yet has improved on everything else .. yes .. opinions sometimes make me scratch my head ..

Well, if everything else is an improvement Im glad I never played R1. The game will suck because it just sucks, it dont combine good graphics, good gameplay and good online. Keyword, combine all those. Nor is it any different or unique from any other FPS that's been out for YEARS. Are you trying to say the gameplay is good? The controls are great yes. But the gameplay? the aiming? shooting? the bootleg Halo feel? I feel like this is an 90's arcade game in my local outdated bowling alley that should be called army guys vs space monsters.

The game is not worth putting up with and wasting time just to earn trophies for. Imagine if they have a bunch of online trophies LOL. How funny would that be knowing how bad online is, and people on there just to win trophies.

As a beta player this game is just not up to par with 2008 and next gen. Now, someone mentioned "this is a beta you know right?" Well, this is a 2gig+ d/l, install and patch update. This isn't a DEMO, it's a beta, big difference. Beta is usually to test servers and glitches, bugs, tweak but nothing to do with graphics and gameplay mechanics. I know some people will like the game regardless, but I dont jump on every game that comes out, I'm not fan boy(not saying any of you are) so I will call it like I see it. If you play any game long enough you will get addicted to it most of the time. I can see how the repetitive-ness like COD4 online can keep you playing and wanting to win, earn kills, keep stats etc.. but the game is really cheesy.

I think as gamers if we accept "well the gameplay is good... well the servers are good", that's supposed to go unsaid, it's supposed to be good to begin with. What should be mentioned is what's good about the game far as pushing next gen capabilities and what seperates it from every other games out. Which basically is nothing. If you keep accepting this kind of standards. You lower the standard for game developers putting out garbage and stamping $60 on it. Socom is far better, even w/ temp servers. But Im not even playing Socom I been on Midnight Club 4 LA which is amazing, Bioshock, Dead Space and Saints Row 2. I already know R2 is out of the question I hope Fallout 3 doesn't let down like this did.

The review is on point. I mean I got the game and I like it even on laggy, glitchy temporary servers. But you can't ignore the negatives and just accept it because the game's called "SOCOM". It's kind of lucky it got that score because honestly has a game ever flopped as hard in history as this did? Servers not even working w extensive beta testing for an online only game, and now temporary servers. For an online only game they could've packed a ton of effort into graphics since they dont gotta focus on single player. They could've made it least look good as COD4 online, I mean how long has that been out? Without the arcade-type feel, keep the tactical aspect but the graphics look hardly next gen. This ain't 2005 I just dont accept these type of graphics on any game. The game is still alright, not better than Saints Row 2 or Midnight Club 4 LA, Bioshock or DeadSpace right now I've almost forgotten about SOCOM till I hear everything's fixed.

The mics are clear though I'll give them that I love em.
