[QUOTE="Lox_Cropek"]The mobo is the Intel DX58SO is it good?

Lox_Cropek

It is a good mobo, it came out 3 years ago so you be the judge on its condition

He bought it at the end of 2010

Well than i guess its gonna be in good-decent condition in that case enjoy your new rig.

[QUOTE="superclocked"]Agreed.. I keep important pics etc. on DVD's, 1 external hdd, and also internal hdd's, though I'll likely sell a few of my internal hdd's on ebay while the prices are high...VanDammFan

You might as well get on that. One thing i dont understand is why do people need so many backups when if you think about it you only really need 1 backup and the hard drive you are using in ur computer thats about it.

Um...I have to disagree with that..Ive had 3 hdds go bad at the same time..one right after the other. SURE I had hundreds of discs with my data but that was 2 days worth of reloading...weeding through them ect. You are supposed to have like 3-4 different backups of anything thats important. AND at least one of those stored at a different location.

Damn man u sure thats not just bad luck, how do they all go bad at the same time?

Nothing is perfect. The best advice is to store it in several places.

[QUOTE="evildead6789"][QUOTE="Lox_Cropek"]I have a friend who will upgrade his PC on july. He's going to give it all to me ;) (i7 950 + 8GB RAM + unknown mobo + unknown pretty case full of fans). Then I'll buy the Hyper 212+ and overclock the hell out of that i7 :)

Lox_Cropek

The i7-950 is as good as an i5-2500, you won't need to overclock

Well you are looking to back up at least 300gb. So the only realistic way to do it is with an external drive unless you want to have a lot of sd card or thumb drives and have to spend hundreds of dollars more than you have to, the best way to go is with an external hard drive.
