MS is already starting to lose dev support. At least, front runner support. Devs went with 360 for the 2007 releases due to the ability to be able to work with the 360. But we are already seeing the tides turn. At the worst, most games now are being dev'd with all consoles in unison. And in some cases, PS3, is being used to dev the game and then time exclusive on 360.
You have to see how panicked it was for MS to jump off of the XBOX so fast and into this gen. Seriously, it was a great console and was really able to hold its own against PS2 and even owned it in some regards. Why'd they ditch it so quick? For the lead, my friends, the lead. And why be so freaked out about the lead? Sony and Nintendo aren't freaked out about catching up. MS, is freaked out because Sony and Nintendo have two or more consoles under thier belt. And both with huuuuuge success.
And so, with the early entry, MS sacrificed some hardware and consumer dollars. Oh, you can say Sony did a little of that witha $600 system. I agree, a little. But MS put this console out without standard HDD (either core owners are screwed or devs cut down game size) and no standard next-gen disc media. Like it or not, this IS going to be a factor. Every month there's more news on devs cutting, shrinking, or tweaking a game due to DVD constraints.
blah, blah, blah, I could go on and on. You can say what you want for Sony's and Nintendo's 2007. It has not been that great for them. But their future is bright. They have set themselves up for the long haul. And though 360 has been out for almost 2 years, this gen is just starting folks. Its just starting.

Games are being deved on all console because the unit sales on the wii and ps3 have increased. More money for devs.
MS did not panic when they released there new console. The dreamcast failed because it was released inbetween console generations. There was not much dev support for it because of this. Same as the xbox. Releasing a system early is a huge advantage. xbox was twice as powerfull as the ps2 and it did not do as well was released late. Hardware does not aways win the war. MS sold 4.4 million units after gears was released. That was one game. What do you think is going to happen this fall? PS3 has one AAA exluisve title and the system has been out for about a year now. In that same time period the 360 has had alot of AAA titles. Please 2 more sytems under its belt? So they have made one more console than MS has. 3 playstation vs 2 xbox's... Not much of an advantage.
The blu ray space on the ps3 is not an advantage because the blu ray drive on the ps3 is slow. Game devs have to write the data on the blu ray dics multiple times to make load times faster. Doing so takes up alot more disc space. Whats wrong with using more than one dvd disc? Sony did this on some of there bigger games. Installing the game on the hard drive is also a option.
