I have no idea where my comments went after I used the quote, but to sum it up:
Why do you guys keep saying Darth is insisting that HDMI is way better than component? He's not.
Anyway, I'll point out that you're number one is wrong biribis. 75-ohm coax can actually be used to make your own component cables that have the exact same quality as store bought component cables. You can take 75-ohm coax and put F to Phono plug adapters on them and use them as component cables. Don't believe me? Do some research, it does work. It works because component cables are made with a 75-ohm cable.
Did I say I don't believe you??
Sheez...everyone REALLY needs to take a chill pill....
THe 75ohm cable was actually used first back in the old days of antenna...that's all I said...
Most of stuff now is 75ohm as well...I know that...even coaxial audio is....but its common place that when you mention 75ohm cable...u r referring specifically to the cable I mentioned..its become kind of its name..
Cheers man...
nice piece of info though....but seriously....take a chill pill!!:D
Hi guys. I came here for some of your advice. When I bought my ps3, I bought a component cable and I used to play on a 21 " CRT. Three days ago, I bought a 720 p LCD HDTV and when comparing the video output of RCA Vs component I was amazed. The difference between 480 i and 720 p is big. Now I'm wondering if the difference between component Vs HDMI on this 720 p native resolution screen would be so notorious to be the excuse to invest on a HDMI cable which is somewhat expensive. Is there any substancial difference between HDMI and component cables playing at 720 P? I really appreciate your advices? thank you :)biribis
Ok now...everyone take a chill pill and cool down...
You never mentioned the size of your 720p screen...and it's native resolution...
Anyways...here's a quick overview of the A-V connections hierarchy....from worst to best...
In your case...I can imagine the MASSIVE improvement from Composite to Component. The jump to HDMI would not be worth it IMO, even if you have a cable for free. You will not notice it, especially on 720p
Cheers...hope this help anyone who was thinking about what those damn connections are about. This is by no means the whole story...just the commonest
As for the guy who insists that HDMI would help a lot...you r definitely not a NOOB here on GS forums...but in A-V stuff...sorry my friend...you are...

But no "nintendo channel" ....
Is it not yet released for the Eurozone?
And speaking about Nintendo Europe....
IS THERE ANY GAME TITLE OR FEATURE THAT eurozone Wii actually has or gets BEFORE the USA, and naturally Japan...??????
GRRR.......
two...
super mario 3
kirby's adventure
I bought them based on IGN's rating..(never had a console before the Wii, and never used Nintendo before...except for Game & Watch...when i was a kid..) ....and I must say....I played SM3 for maybe 5 minutes....and KA for like 1 minute....and never launched them again.....
I didn't enjoy or like them at all....actually I got really bored after like 2 minutes...don't know why i didn't like them at all...
I guess Nintendo veterans rave about VC titles cause it brings back good ole memories....something to do with nostalgia....
well...I had none...guess VC is not for me...
um... has anyone noticed the fact that... ITS 5 BUCKS. not a monthly fee or weekly fee, no, a ONE time cost of $5.
get out of your mom's basement, get a job, and work the less than an hour it takes to make that kind of money. you can even quit your job if you want to and STILL keep your browser that you worked so "hard" for.
seriously... i could understand if this was a larger amount but stop being so cheap. i paid for mine and it was completely worth the purchase.
Mindgame_1
That's my point EXACTLY....
because it's JUST 5 bucks...and because its a SEMI-BROWSER...with very limited capacity...yet fun as a whole (simple CUT & PASTE is non existent)
it SHOULD BE FOR FREE......
included with the Wii...it would be a NICE extra feature.....and definitely would not hurt Nintendo's profit....
but to ask a premium for it....only to find out that it's a VERY BASIC browser.....and when many early adopters had it for free....well...doesn't go down ok in my book....just my 2 cents...
If Nintendo offered a FULLY functional browser...and charged ..say even 20 bucks for it...I would have GLADLY payed for that...
Cheers...
