Casual means a random person...

A casual is a person who hasno or littleidea about the console when he/she/it buys it. She does not buy it because of a brand.

Therefore, a casual would NOT buy the highest priced system (unless it's an idiot)

That is why the Wii has more casuals.

The opposite of casual is really a fanboy. Who buys from the perspective of wheter he/she/it likes the brand or not.

Hardcore is more subjective of a gamer. There was a poll about what hardcore is a few days ago, if you saw it, you understand what I mean.

Halo 2: 55% (abouts)

sales don't always reflect quality. this wouldn't work.CaseyWegner

As a side quality it would. GS score would be main, with this as a side dish.

But really, this can't take over, maybe it can become a side thing though. Here are a few games then. (75% is WAY to high)

These are just from Us so might be a bit weird.

Gears: After 3 months2,4 million people had bought GeoW (10th feb 07) at that time there were about 6m X360s sold. (In US)

Geow: 40%

TP: 1,4 million games (for Wii) were sold at 19th feb 07. There were about 2,5 mill wiis

TP: 56%

And so on. If you want i'll add some more examples

These are NOT totally correct.

Compromise on the flop thing...base it on sales within 3 months...but make it a % of the install base

If an AAA game usually sells 75% in 3 months...then thats your target

hype the game based on these standards instead of the opinion of one man...

Problem solved... (note: the number in question is pulled from the air and isn't reflective of what the actual number should be...

This also lets the reverse hype come into play...

If someone is gonna reverse hype a game...they say that only 30% is gonna pick it up in 3 months...

This also adds to the suspense and overall enjoyment of the peeing contest that is the hypometer....

effthat

Good idea, needs some thinking, but good idea.

Sadly, this is gamespot, and people won't let you forget that.

Also this would make Wii good, which X360 owners don't like, or do you mean in attachment rate? Because THAT is a good idea.

OMG! Australia has to pay more for a Ps3 than in Norway? In norway they are 1000 dollars, but that is due to 33% tax on video consoles...
