It's not really a new trend, developers just take thing farther than what was the norm until now.

You pay more to play earlier.

It's like that for every games, buy the games on day one pay 60$ or wait for a while and get the games at more then 50% off.

By being bought by facebook, this most likely put an end to the plan they had of trying to make the Oculus rift available for free in the future.

Yeah, i predict 3DS sales will be at around 70-80 millions at the end of it's life, quite good, but it won't reach DS and PS2 sales.

Of course i can be wrong :P

I switched to Playstation

I don't play most of the big AAA games, so

COD, Battlefield, Killzone, Halo, Gears, Dead Space Crysis, i never touched any of thoses games before.

You have lot of small games on playstation that are a lot of fun to play and feel fresh.

And that's all i need, i don't care about graphic as long as a game is fun to play and is different enough that i don't feel like i already played the game before.

Nintendo need to stop relying on their old IP so much, but i don't think Nintendo going software only would be a good idea.

Each consoles have a different userbase and each consoles like different games.

Sure some games will be popular on every consoles, but like for example Playstation userbase like japanese games much more then Xbox userbase and Nintendo userbase isn't as much focused on graphic then Xbox and Playstation userbase.

Lot of Nintendo IP wouldn't work well on other consoles.

Some would work better though.

Also i completely agree that Nintendo should stop being so crazy with the hardware and be more crazy with their software.

I use to be a huge Nintendo fanboy 15 years ago, but now i'm not really interested in any of their franchise.

Almost each time i play a Nintendo games nowaday i don't feel like i'm playing a new games, i feel like i'm just playing an updated version of an old games from Nintendo.

I wonder if something like that is potentially dangerous.

If for example you die in a game and your brain really believe you're dead for real, maybe that would cause your brain to just shut down.
