@LaPerrita Oh, my dear "no-fool" friend, please keep such rare "delicacies" you speak of for your own royally "romantic" meals. People bear enough burdens without hearing guys like you speak,,,
@LE5LO @Prats1993 Some people can carry so much intelligence with them, hence such repetitive grinding games are their right medicine: Parry, Attack, Repeat etc. etc. etc.
Heaven forbid one dare mention games that emphasize story over combat, such as KOTOR or Mass Effect. They would be considered 'fools' or 'naive' or 'not man enough' etc.
@LaPerrita I didn't need a dictionary definition of "trailer", thanks. In any case, you should see more movies' trailers and get the fact that many actually reveal plenty of info, not just graphical parades, exactly in order to arouse consumer interests from many different angles.
If you want to sell a product well, you try and offer as much info as possible.
You are so prone to call others 'fools', but, unless the fool is you, come with a good argument why a game like Dark Souls is not a hack'n slash ('hack'n slash' meaning combat represents over 75% of all the game has to offer). Or, if you prefer Wikipedia's directive:
"Hack and slash or hack and slay, abbreviated H&S or HnS, refers to a type of gameplay that emphasizes combat."
I say is more than a generic hack'n slash - it is a masochistic, waste of resources gory beat' em up/get beat up... Contradict me. Show me how much story and dialogues prevail over combat in this lame excuse of a game.
@lindallison @TaoranPrince @LE5LO Or maybe he meant that the game's universe could do with some interesting npcs, more dialogues and story, character interaction, romances etc. You know, reasons to fight/play for, other than self preserving one's miserable hide, or worse, pure bloodthirst...
@master_zidane @Thanatos2k @jhcho2 Many players call it perfect, though. Or didn't you look there?...
Skyrim's flaws are anything but minor: they cry so loud and shout for themselves, plainly directing more about 'how NOT to do it like Skyrim', much more than 'how to'.
You said: "Being influenced by Skyrim, or any other TES game, isn't just confined to its open-world aspect. There's a ton of other stuff that you can look at and say, "Hey, we can do this in our game and make it better!""
By 'ton of other stuff' you are very correct. Taking an objective look at any overhyped game, almost everything can be made better. And it already was made better, by other games, years ago.
@baxwam @paladinjedi I agree with exploration as long as that doesn't come as an excuse to limit other aspects of a game, such as: voice acting, story, choices, dialogues...
Skyrim may have large places to explore, but as for the rest the game has to offer... oh, well...
Yes, DA 2 should have had more content. Especially related to the 2 main endings, and the reason Hawke leaves...
@Rat_King @aguywithacomp DAO awesome? You mean when it comes to a rigid, clumsy, animation stuttering, tiresome long combat system? Or the insipid, linguistically challenged protagonist? Or the typical, non-original worn-out story device 'fight the dragon, save the kingdom, marry the princess'?...
