I've accessed the Eshop today and tried to do a system update but haven't received any form of confirmation. Has anyone else had any confirmation at all?

Swings and round abouts. Anything and everything you buy helps the economy. People are worrying too much about the recession, it's not the first time we've been in a recession and certainly won't be the last, things have a way of working itself out.

[QUOTE="ekalbtwin"]I understand that games need to sell to get sequels so am not all that taken back by what he said. What I want to know is how much it needs to sell. If selling a million is what Nintendo is after I am sure it will meet their quota, but if it needs to post Mario level sales it is dead in the water. I am getting it either way as I love it and think it fits perfectly in 3D, probably even better than Oot does. Ok so I will comment on what he said and my reaction to other's reactions. It is being blown out of proportion. He is half joking and at the same time letting gamers know that if there is not a market for Starfox anymore it will not get any new games. Just because a loyal fan or 2 wants a new game in a series that does not make money doesn't mean they should get it. I want a new game for sure, but do not think its going to happen if people wont buy it (and the very very very few of us who post on forums is nowhere neat enough, for proof look at the sales of Zac and wiki or however you spell it).

Personally speaking I think Fox will continue to live on through the likes of Smash Brothers. I'm half and half debating whether to buy this, purely because...at the core, it is a remake of a granted, very good game, but short lived and nowadays run of the mill.

Nintendo should do a global opinion list of Retro Games we would like to see, put it to the vote and the top 3 or so that come out on top, adapt them for the 3DS, but don't hopefully won't charge us a small fortune. I wonder how much it costs the business to adapt their games.

1. Mario was named after the landlord of Nintendo of America's office

2. Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto was inspired by Alice in Wonderland

3. Mario wears a hat because Miyamoto can't draw hair

(Shigeru Miyamoto designed Mario wearing a hat because he found drawing hair difficult. He also drew Mario with a mustache because a mustache was easier to see than a mouth with 8-bit graphics)

4. Super Mario Bros was released in Japan on Friday the 13th

5.Miyamoto designed Mario with overalls that contrast with his sleeves to help in the animation of his arm motions. The sleeves are of the same color of his shirt and without the overalls the arms would disappear during the movements. Overalls: Stylish and practical.

6.Contrary to popular belief, Mario hits blocks with his fist, not his head

7.The graphics for the bushes and clouds are the same, with different colors

8. Mario has appeared in over 200 video games

9.The Super Mario bros series is in the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful gaming franchise of all time. It now boasts global sales of over 240 million units.

10.Mario is the most famous character in the history of video games, and perhaps is the most famous character ever. In a 1990 poll by Marketing Evaluations, Mario was found to be more popular (and recognizable) among children than Mickey Mouse.

Spinnerweb

11. In his gaming Debut, Donkey Kong in 1981, Mario was called Jumpman.

Haha, very interesting facts. I liked the clouds and bushes one. Those were the good old days when designing games were simple :)

Times have changed. The Ipod/Smart Phone generation is in some ways taking over and making it very difficult for Nintendo and Sony to keep up with their handhelds. One can hope, that the somewhat attractive price of the 3DS and upcoming games can turn the tide a little. One criticism that I do have about Nintendo is the prices in their Eshop, they are certainly the most expensive :(
