SitcomTo The Manor Born is returning to BBC One for a Christmas special and will see stars Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles reunited as Audrey Fforbes-Hamilton and Richard DeVere.

To The Manor Born began in 1979 and ended in 1981 when Audrey and Richard got married. In the 60-minute Christmas special, the couple are celebrating their silver wedding anniversary.

Penelope Keith, speaking while filming on location, comments: "Thankfully the weather has been kind to us while we've been filming down in Somerset. It's enormous fun to be back filming for the Christmas special and a great joy to be returning to BBC One."

The episode will also star Angela Thorne as Audrey's friend Marjory Frobisher and is written by Peter Spence.

A while ago I contacted the BBC about a newspaper report that this year we would have an Xmas show of "To the Manor born" and this is the reply I got weeks later!

THE last time we saw Audrey fforbes-Hamilton she was marrying her nouveau riche nemesis Richard DeVere and being reinstated as lady of the manor in 1981.

Fast-forward a quarter of a century and they're back! Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles are in a Christmas special of hit sitcom To the Manor Born on BBC1.
