@Gorakka i really don't get why SC2 is getting so much hate. frankly i thought it was pretty good albeit long overdue. we have to face the fact the blizzard will only go back to making good games in decent time frames once WoW dies. Sadly that's going to take a couple more years it seems.
the bottom line is that gamespot's boasting that they got their version of the CE before everyone else lol. Ah well, thank God for Blizzard DRM. at least we know all they can do is enjoy the toys and not the game muhahahahaha!
I think it all comes down to preference of genre. Personally, if I wanted normality I'd stick to real life. My dad on the other hand won't touch anything that's remotely outside the realm of realism in a video game which is why he generally won't go any further than games like BF and COD.
I don't really see a problem with either preference. In fact, the reality that people have different expectations of their games is what contributes to the variety offered by the industry.
I'm as excited about this game as the next guy but why all the personal attacks on Laura? It's a well written article and is informative about the history of D3 and Torchlight for anyone who's still new to the genre. Just because you follow a game for a decade, it doesn't mean you should slam anyone for releasing an article chronicling its status quo. Let's try to keep our pants on so to speak.
@TookYoCookiez In all fairness I think that any game with this much hype behind it warrants some form of discussion like this before its release. Furthermore I can't see what EA has to do with anything. They don't even figure into this article. It's not that I don't appreciate or agree with your opinion... I just don't see how it's relevant to this article.
On topic, Diablo 3 and Torchlight are games to look out for :)
@Viridianzealot @mechmaster525 I'm not a big fan of RM transactions used for online games myself, but having considered the issue at length with a good deal of lawyers, we all think it's better than these things happening anyway without any form of control. Some worry about this setting a new trend for capitalisation, however I really can't see anything wrong with a company earning its due when its product is being exploited for gain. Also I managed to find a preorder of D3 locally(Malta) for just under 40 Euros. Blizzard have yet to lose my trust so i'm always willing to give them a chance over those thieves at EA
@Warden816 personally i think they'll both be pretty awesome. still you have to consider that blizzard games will always have something crucial going for them - production value. Blizzard take their time releasing games but always give out a polished product which is as much eye candy as it is well executed. torchlight has a different style of production. they make for good hack n' slash games but at the same time the style is very different. Personally I'll be picking up both in the long run. If one loves the genre, one shouldn't compare between two well made games but rather appreciate the two for the often different reasons why both of them are good
This makes a good deal of sense. i'm so sure i've come across some of those cheaters myself. sometimes you'd end up in a team fight where one guy seems to practically spam their ultimates even when they have a considerable cooldown. good to know these people were nailed.
