Oh god, that could take upwards of 30 seconds. Oh wait, I have to do that to watch a DVD as well. Hmmmm...maybe it won't be so bad.

I'm not sure if you guys are seeing Jaysonguy's point here. The whole purpose of Netflix is the ability to stream video instantly (without physical media). Sure you can receive DVD's in the mail if you wish... but the way the industry is going, the digital media is the future. Sony keeps preaching that they're making the PS3's UI more simple and accessable for all gamers/users. With that being said, having to use a disc to access Netflix kinda defeats the purpose and makes using it on the PS3 sort of inferior to other outlets such as PC. By adding the disc, it seems as if you'd be taking a step backward in the whole "simplification" process. We should be able to access it in the XMB and watch instantly. It's not about being lazy, or complaining that you have to take out whatever disc is in and replace it with the NF disc.

Thank you for getting it

The whole point of this version of the Netflix service is to watch anything instantly

The PS3 version wont be watch instantly, you'll still need to insert a disc

If this is watch instantly then using that logic every single game is play instantly and every single movie is watch instantly

I am crying in the fetal position right now, thinking about how much time I have wasted in the past putting VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray into machines. I haven't left my couch for over a year, and now what am I going to do! Those discs are so heavy, and who knows the last time I have been to my mailbox, let alone to receive any of my netflix discs. My dog usually gets them for me, but since I have been on the couch, I haven't fed him, and he is probably decaying on my kitchen floor. I was really hoping that I would be able to just press a button and my netflix appear. But now.... there is no reason to live anymore. I am leaning over to reach under my couch to receive my crossbow I use against intruders. I am now pointing it at my fac...

You need to have a disc in the machine for it to work?

Sorry, no dice

That's going to be the dealbreaker with most users.

Jaysonguy

I guess those people are too lazy to go to their mailbox to get netflix discs. Or too lazy to walk over and pee in the toilet. Or too lazy to do any of the other activities that involve the same amount of effort as inserting a disc into a ps3. I know the human race is lazy, but if some of the laziest people in the world, video gamers, can bring themselves to walk over to their console and insert a disc with a negligible amount of weight, I think we can do it to watch movies. If there is any deal breaker it will be the 9 dollars it cost for netflix. Better than the 50 bucks a year my buddy pays on top of that to watch netflix and play Halo online.
