Would a 2600pro fry my machine. I only have 300 watts. I would change my power supply, but I dont know what size it is and I'd rather not go through the hassle of unscrewing/unplugging everything. 300-watts should be enough for the geforce 6 and 7 series, right?

I need a video card that is able to connect to an HDTV and that will work with 300 watts. I'm not a hard core gamer, my most modern PC game is Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. However, I plan on purchasing Half-Life 2, Oblivion, and Tomb Raider: Anniversary very soon. I would like a video card that runs some of the more recent games at decent frame rates. I was thinking of a video card in the geforce 6 and 7 series. Here are my specs:

Pentium 4 3GHz, 1GB of Ram
PCI Express x16 Expansion slot (right now I use integrated graphics)
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, and 300-watt Power supply.

I was actually even thinking about selling my wii/PS2 for a slim white or silver PS2 with a wireless controller and component cable.

It's not that I can't afford a PS3 right now- it's just I'd rather not have a bunch of game consoles piled around my tv. I don't want to sound like a fanboy, but sticking with a few or possibily one console is just going to be cheaper. I really need to do more active things and its very easy for me to sit around and play and purchase video games on my freetime. Thing is I really love the final fantasy, resident evil, and tomb raider games.

I've been debating on this recently. I'm trying to decide on:

a.) keeping my wii and my PS2. Though I might get a slimmer PS2 because they look so cool and a wireless PS2 controller. I was considering getting my old favorite ****c PSone/ PS2 games. I'm also thinking about getting a final fantasy game collection off ebay, which includes all the PS1/PS2 FF games.

or

b.) Sell my wii and my PS2 and purchase a Playstation 3. The games I want for it are long ways off such as Final Fantasy XIII and Resident Evil 5. However, I could play my PS2/PSone games on it.

or should I opt for a PSP and/or a DS? I want to try and have a few game consoles as possible because I just spend way too much time and money on them.

yeah, but aren't routers more expensive and harder to setup? I'd rather use something simple and easy and that doesn't take up too much space on the desk.

And I am aware that PS3 has wifi built in. A wifi USB adapter is a device that plugs into a PC so that your PS3 wifi can pick up a connection.
