Whether you accept climate change or not, its widely accepted that fossil fuels will run out within the century. And even if you go down the 'I don't care, I'll be dead by 2099' route, the situation will become unbearable a long time before then. Imagine how much panic there was over the prospect of $1 a barrel. Within 10 years, $1 a barrel may look good. We have to build renewable sources of energy to stop the world plunging in to an energy crisis it won't be able to get out of, because once oil get too low, it will become even harder to build wind turbines and solar panels. I live close to school and see ppl driving like 60 mph and if caught and fined they pay same as i do on motorway
