The situation with U.S. soldiers in Iraq is much different than British soldiers in Iraq. We hold the more violent sectors of Iraq; Britian holds a more peaceful sector and has less troops. As U.S. troops are beginning to crack under the pressure of constant fear of death, the British soldiers are more at ease (still in danger though). Plus there is less British troops, which means less chance for friendly-fire. But I stick by the crack under pressure theory as the main cause for U.S. friendly-fire. Simply put, American troops are in more danger, and thus have more fear, than the British do. This does not diminish either side's efforts, but I am simply point this out.
joeblak, there are many reasons for whats on your list. Education system and murder rates are thanks to illegal immigration. Mexicans cross the border in great number and live in poverty. Poverty gives birth to gangs and violence, and obviously a rejection of school.
Devoo55 has some serious anti-American issues. Look: Muslims hate us because of Israel. Europe hates us because we saved them, and inturn ruled over them to protect them against communism. Europe doesn't want to be protected and directed: it was once on top, and it can't accept the fact that the U.S. is on top now. The rest of the world just is jealous of our power. wealth, and expanding culture. Remeber this one fact: which ever country is the strongest in the world at any given time, it will be the most hated. Thats the real reason the world hates us.
In total active personal, the U.S. army numbers about a little less than a million. Our army isn't all that big at all; China, Vietnam, North Korea, and Iran (including reserves) are more than double the size of the U.S. army, but no where near as strong.
First off, Canada has no reason to invade the U.S. And the U.S. has no reason to invade Canada. The difference between the two in the past involved British support/hatred; obviously that isn't an issue anymore. And on the issue of the French army: it sucks. Not even speaking about the arrogance of the French politicians, the army has been a failure ever since 1789.WW2 failure, Vietnam and more importantly Algerian failure. What else do you need to say? Its air force is good I guess...............
