I live in Aus and i love it, that being said, NZ is certainly a beautiful country and i've enjoyed myself incredibly each time i've been over there. I'd probably pick to live in Australia to live though, there's more opportunities over here and really the country is big enough that you can usually find a place to live that suits your style. Also lol at the guy who's repping Newcastle beaches, they aren't very impressive My local beach is Cronulla, made famous by the riots that the media beat up into a massive event, it's a nice enough beach but i prefer ones along the south coast of NSW that aren't highly developed, where you can have a beautiful beach to yourself :)

I don't think they're pointless, and i do enjoy a nice unique piece of jewellery. The problem i have is with everyone's obsession with diamonds. They're not rare, they're up there with some of the most common gemstones in the world, but a careful advertising campaign by the De Beers cartel has created a bit of an aura around them, wherein people think they are rare and incredibly valuable, in reality they aren't. If i were going to get an expensive piece of jewellery it would be with a rare gemstone, probably coloured. Oh and for the record, Diamonds are minerals, not rocks :P

So the rebel T3 comes with two lenses? (18-55mm and 55-250mm)

And I dislike point and shoot. I'm well past that stage and I can't get the shot that I really want with a point and shoot.

Ok I guess I didn't understand macro, but I want to be able to take close-ups at high quality, and 18-55mm is perfect for that, just not distance.

Depends on where you buy it from. Some places will just sell you the body with no lenses, others will put in the most basic (18-55) some will do twin lens kits (18-55 and 55-250) and others will do a discount on another lens if you buy it at the same time (or at least that's how we do it here in Australia, i assume it's the same worldwide.) Yeh a lot of people think macro photography is just close up, but pure macro requires that minimum of 1x magnification. If you're just after close up then the 18-55 (or even 55-250mm) will serve you okay. Macro really is difficult to get your head around and it requires a lot of reading and new techniques to account for issues like incredibly shallow depth of field and stuff, but it is fantastic! As far as shooting at distance i'm not quite sure what you mean. Are you talking about doing landscapes or something where the subject is the quite far awya and you need to be able to 'zoom' in on them?

I have a Canon 600D (rebel T3) it's a great camera. Not sure what you mean about the optical zoom it comes with has to be able to do a macro and distance photography. The lenses you use will determine what sort of photography you'll be able to achieve. Standard kit lenses (18-55mm and 55-250mm) are okay for basic landscapes and portraits, but terrible for macro. The very definition of macro is that the size of the object you are taking a photograph of fills the exact same space on the camera's image sensor (i.e 1x magnification, a 1 cm bug will fill 1cm on the sensor) No kit lenses will be able to do this without extension tubes or other modifications. A bona fide canon macro lens will set you back another 600bucks easily (but they are well worth it) Do some more research, especially into DSLR's they work a lot differently compared to smaller point and shoot options, but of course you get much better results.

Try living in Australia, most retailers sell new releases for around $100, i think a major retailer is currently selling MW3 for $110, i just import from the UK for $50.

I think credit needs to be given where credit is due. Not one person has mentioned that this game was not developed by Rockstar, therefore it shouldn't bear many resemblances to GTAIV and RDR, didn't you see in the opening credits "Team Bondi Sydney Australia" Rockstar published it and co developed, the original idea was from Team Bondi. I think it was worthy of the scores its getting, yes it has it flaws but it was great to see the industry trying something new for once, and now everyone is panning the game because it wasn't perfect, Was GTA1 perfect? no it takes tine to refine the game into something truly amazing. I loved the concept and most of the gameplay and story of LA Noire but most of all i think it's exciting to see how the game will develop over the coming years.
