Zelda: Spirit Tracks typo

This isn't the first typo I've seen in a Nintendo game. Not that I'm complaining (we're all only people, right? People make mistakes). I love finding things like these.

I don't think it was spelt wrongly anywhere in the game, this is just in the Sand Temple.

Pokepark screenshot gallery!

Okay, I've finished the game and I'm ready to show some good screenshots I took! It's possible to take pics while you're playing an attraction, I found out. Not while you're playing tag, hide-&-seek or battling though.

I have about 50 pictures, I can't possibly put them all here :P To see the full gallery, click here(Part 1), or here(Part 2)

Web feeds....help!

Does anyone know what they are? What happens when I subscribe to RSS feed? Actually, what is RSS? And how do sites like delicious, blinklist and digg work?

Let's say I have a blog. How do I make it so people can subscribe to them?

Actually I'm so confused I don't know the first thing I should ask about subscribing to web feeds and how to make people subscribe to my own. Help....

Pokepark Wii- Gameplay video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dMKq6ejwQY

To continue my series of blogs on the Pokepark Wii game, I post a gameplay video! You navigate the world as Pikachu, but once you've made friends with other Pokemon, they can be used in certain games around the Pokepark, some with multiple games they can participate in. Magikarp here can take part in three- which is pretty rare.

Pokemon- You don't EV train?

Well you might wanna think twice.

Yes, that much. If you train Pokemon and want to get the best out of your team, and you still don't know what EVs are, you stand to miss out on quite a lot. Check serebii.net for details. Of course, I'm sure most of you would have known about this ages ago anyway :P (and in which case the only point of this blog is to show off the crazy screenshot)

Of course, this huge increase is just for one level, after that it evens out till you reach level 100.

Pokepark screenshot test

Pokepark Wii lets you take screenshots of Pikachu while in the overworld. It's too bad, then, that it doesn't allow you to rotate camera angles easily, or take screenshots while you're battling, playing tag, or participating in one of the attractions in the park.(okay, wait, I think you can, but I haven't figured that out yet)

The good thing is, like Animal Crossing, Pokepark Wii saves screenshots into the SD card in .jpg format, so no hassle trying to convert .bin screenshots into something viewable on your PC.

Here's a sample(not very good, lol). Taken in the Beach Area.

I'll upload more as I progress.

Pokepark: Pikachu's Big Adventure!

I managed to get my hands on the import copy(as I do with nearly every Pokemon game).

From the title screen onwards the whole game is plainly bombarding you with cute. Even the loading screens with Pikachu posing and smiling away are adorable. All the Pokemon mascots and a plethors of the ittle critters are here, amounting up to a total of 193 Pokemon you can befriend(I don't know about the Legendaries that you get through passwords, I'll check for that later), and some of them make the cutest noises(Azurill, Chikorita, Corsola, Buneary). Not authentic noises pulled straight out of the anime, but nice diversion from the sounds they make on the main games.

Oh yeah, the game itself. Underneath the saccharine coating is a Pokemon-themed minigame collection. It may be shallow, throwaway fun, but hey, it's Pokemon. Gamers will likely pass, as this game is mainly aimed at kids and people who truly love Pokemon. Buy only if you consider yourself a fan.

I've only played an hour, full review soon!

Highlights of 2009

Being the last day of the year, here's my obligatory recap of what went down with me in 2009. All to do with gaming, mind, I'm not so fond of making 'real life' blogs. Though I have to say, real life has been treating me well this year. I won't go into too many details of this.

January

Still jamming on Taiko no Tatsujin Wii (the first version), and finished unlocking most of the songs, and messing around with my Japanese import of Pokemon Platinum, and taking care of my AC: City Folk...folk. Why the old games? That's because there are no games. Only one noteworthy release, which was Elebits: The Adventures of Kai and Zero. I finished that in two weeks. Cute, but not much to do after the story mode is done.

February

Boring month, this, completely no games this month. So all I had to keep me occupied was Animal Crossing.

March

Bagged me a few gems this month, with the release of NPC: Pikmin, MadWorld and Pokemon Platinum(waited a while, eh?). I missed the first Pikmin on Gamecube, so the NPC was a genuine treat, probably the first RTS game I'll grow(no pun intended) to appreciate. MadWorld is bloody goodness, and bloody hell on Hard Mode, and quite a half-decent story behind all of it. Pokemon Platinum is....well, what would you expect? It's Pokemon. Also first month of spring on Animal Crossing. Them butterflies are coming out of their hiding places. Ooh, get them.

April

Got all your shiny new DSis? I can only sit and stare with the most jealous face I can make....ever. It was far too expensive at launch(from where I live). Shops would hike the price of a DSi up by double, because of high demand. Damn the laws of economics. Well, together with the DSi came Rhythm Heaven, which was awesome. Oh yeah, and the Japanese version of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky comes around late this month to rob my free time. Me imports quick.

May

Two big Wii games, Punch-Out and Klonoa. I had to admit, I never expected Punch-Out to be this much fun. Boxing here adheres to no rules except knocking down your opponent. Finding weak spots is satisfying as it should be, although some are a little unfair. Klonoa, being a remake of the original on PS1, is shorter than my nose hair. It was pretty great, with beautiful updated graphics and the same great puzzle platforming. Here's hoping Namco gets around to making the PS2 Klonoa too. Also a bit of Animal Crossing.....it's nearly summer!

June

June is E3 Month, so the first few days were spent gawking at Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M, and frowning upon Iwata's Vitality Sensor(this better be good). Japanese get Pokemon Rumble on WiiWare...which I can't get because of the region thing....and the fact that I can't have any points. The Legendary Starfy was the only notable game I got in June. It's far too easy, but it's just so adorable XD. Also bought Knights in the Nightmare, a fantastic JRPG for the DS. Haven't heard of it? Go check it out. You won't be disappointed.

July

This is when Wii Sports Resort comes in. I guess I don't have to say it, but this'll be a game I'll stick to for a long time. Not solo, however, after unlocking everything and getting about half of the stamps on my main Mii, I'll turn this into the biggest party-hogger of all time. As for solo games, I got an import of Puyo Puyo 7 for the DS, and another import of Mii-centric game Tomodachi Collection. I still play it to this day. For some reason it's more fun than Animal Crossing.

August

Another duff month, but with all my unfinished games guess I'd better start working on them. Also playing Animal Crossing like there's no tomorrow. This game shines its best on the summer months, cause that's when the most things are out for you to catch. Summer bugs and fish all sell for a ton. I became a Bellionaire(ahem...) the same way on the DS, all during the summer. Oh yeah, there was Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. Somehow I managed to avoid playing the first in this series and found this one to be better than I expected.

September

Just like the DS version, as soon as summer's over Animal Crossing City Folk gets dumped like a bowling ball. I get bored of it in 3 months, but always want to endure till after the summer's over before I stop. They should totally release an AC game during th autumn months so I can actually withstand playing a full year. There's better things for me to play anyway, with the release of Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver in Japan. Now THIS is pure gaming bliss. And Scribblenauts too, I bought in on the hype, but it was just on the borderline of 'not-too-crap'. I skipped Bowser's Inside Story for these two.

October

Also not a very exciting month for games. Because of the price of the Balance Board I skipped buying Wii Fit Plus, but still had enough to get the US version of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of the Sky. Someone stop me from being addicted to life as a Pikachu :D. New games? A Boy and his Blob this month. More adorable graphics and a pretty impressive soundtrack, and Muramasa: The Demon Blade. This month is big on 2D side scrollers. Also, whoo, makeover of Nintendo Channel! The new Nintendo Week show isn't bad, and they've actually found some way to make me lol. Dark Gary, bro.

November

Now, due to my exams this month I didn't find much time for games. But before they actually started I got my white DSi to replace my good old Phat, which has been in service to me since late 2005. I didn't buy anything, save for Taiko no Tatsujin Wii 2, which might as well have made my whole year worthwhile. Yeah, this series is that good. If you're a rhythm fanatic like me. I also got my free Internet Channel.

December

Some catching up to do, and a lot of games I bought before Christmas, most notably Bowser's Inside Story, which makes my personal best DS game of the year, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which I could've gotten last month but didn't, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles for the same reason, Irozuki Tingle no Koi no Balloon Trip by a recommendation(it's really quite good despite the subject matter), and Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, which wraps up 2009 for me.

Next year is going to be big, but for today I'm content on reminiscing on how far I've come....Happy New Year to all of you, and hope you had a great 2009!

I got a DSi~

No, it's not a Christmas gift, so no DSi Scream video from me.

My DSi is white in color, but so far I've been too busy playing games to use its other features(namely Mario & Luigi 3 and Spirit Tracks). I have popped in to DSi Camera occasionally, and messed around in the System Menu, which looks a lot like the Wii's own system menu.

Had a bit of trouble connecting it to my router, but it went through anyway. I've ported my Wi-fi config from my DS Phat to the DSi, so my Friend Codes stay the same~

It's been a month since I owned it. I've been forgetful about telling everyone I had one until now (don't ask why). How is it better? Play the DS Phat for 5 minutes. Then play the same game on DSi. The vast difference in screen quality is more than enough to tide me over. And no more dead pixels/chipped paint/ broken shoulder buttons/half-cracked hinge/dead battery from my Phat!
