I agree with OP, I think MGS4 looks much better. Look at the ground, the bricks in uncharted look extremely face. the ones in MGS4 lookextremelyreal. Character models as well. I don't really like the super shiny look of some of these game, as one guy said it looks like everything is tin foil. It just doesn't look real. Sort of like Forza 3 vs. GT5. Forza car models are super smooth and shiny and what not, but they just don't look quite right.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. To me this game looks like a new expansion pack + a massive overhaul of graphics. Im perfectly fine with that. Change it too much, and it wouldn't be the same game. My macbook won't play this however, and I doubt im going to drop over a grand to play this and Diablo III.

As others have mentioned, genre matters. For FPS, 10-15 is fine. For a game like Mario or Zelda 30-40 is what I want/expect. I amsurprisedsome of you are saying 10 hours, that seems really short to me. Game length is the second most important factor to me, the most important being how the game was ranked on IGN/Gamespot. I didn't buy uncharted b/c i heard it was really short. Sorry, im not interested in paying $60 for a game that takes less than 10 hours to beat. Anything longer than 50 is too much unless the game is just incredible, thought that is really rare.

I don't like fighting games, but I love SF4. Online is a huge bonus. Its just a totally unique multiplayer experience, one on one, who's got the skills? Its my favorite multiplayer game this generation, but at least for me, I had to have an arcade stick. You have to put time into it to see the results.

The multiplayer is not tops, but I think it was really cool and generous of Konami to throw it in there. I mean, they really didn't even have to bother and its pretty solid.

Im really interested in "The Last Guardian" and since I never had a PS2, I never played the earlier ones. I would like to see what team ico is all about and was wondering If you guys would suggest getting Shadow of the Colossus. My PS3 is not backwards compatible, so I would have to find a cheap ps2 somewhere. I only want it for this game, then I would probably sell it b/c im tight on cash. Is this a good idea or should I just wait? Are the graphics good or will I feel they're a little lame due to being spoiled by the PS3. Also, Is that game hard to find?

I bought a PS3 just for that game and it exceeded my expectations. Im actually playing through it again right now for the first time. Some of thecut-scenesfeel a little long this go round, but the game is unbelievable. I haven't played every game this gen, but Im positive it is the best. The only negative I saw the first go round was the the epilogue was a little long and boring. Id give MGS4 a 9.9. Presentation is unmatched. Oh, and as someone else mentioned, Im eager to see what "The Last Guardian" can do, It seems to have the potential to be on a similar level as MGS4.

Well so much for your market expertise. If I owned a Wii, I would go out and buy the new Wii sports without even seeing a preview or reading a review.

[QUOTE="pizzahutgood"]

[QUOTE="munu9"]Yeah, no. This gen, MS and sony took distinctly different approaches from Nintendo. Though if you think they haven't learned anything from this gen and from wii sales, you underestimate MS and sony. munu9

It will be interesting to see what they do in response, but I just don't think it would be a good idea to try to tap into nintendo's market. Mario can cover every genre on his own practically. Those lovable characters make games like mario party, mario kart, smash brothers. Samus and Snake can't do that. Although I do think Sony may be onto something with that play.create.share idea. That new cart racer has potential I think.

It's not mario itself, it's the wii's casual appeal. The gamecube had a lot of good mario stuff on it yet it had very bad sales.

I still say its Mario that makes it all possible. Plus the Mario and zelda stuff on gamecube was actually rather weak, which is very unusual. I mean, the mario game had you running around cleaning stuff. The Zelda game was cell shaded and looked a little weird. They brought it back up to speed on the wii and then had some "gimmicks" to keep things moving.
