Have you checked you settings? First make sure the switch on the component cable is set to HDTV, then go into your systems blade in the dashboard. Select display and make sure its set to HDTV and widescreen. Set the resolution to 720p.

Try that.

720p is less than 768P, therefore the remaning 48p is being "stretched" to fill the screen. My TV has a setting called "aspect" and a setting called "1:1 mode". 1:1 mode displays the actual resolution of the output source (the 360) and it's resolution is 1280 x 720. If i choose aspect it will enlarge (stretch) the image to fill the screen while remaing in correct proportion.

Someone help me out here.  I am soo lost.  My LCD's native resolution is 1360 x 768.  I use component cables, therefore the image is slightly stretched in both dimensions.  VGA solves this?  I feel like an idiot... can anybody tell me if I should be using my VGA hookup in the back of my TV?

[QUOTE="pizzavideogames"]well, I too enjoy my Xbox...but the 360 failure is not the 3-5% Microsoft says it is. There's just no way. That being said, the problem is only exaggerated on messege boards. I'm on my 3'rd. Mister_Griffin

u my friend need to take care of ur things

also think about it theres like 11 million 360s what do u think it is 50% yeah no

also everything that is mass produced has defects simple as that

now another thing if think that percentage is total crap read this part

talk to how many people got pregnant even while they used a condom or birth control, its alot

now complain about that

Your taking my comments too far. I don't think the defect rate is 3-5%. I also don't think condoms defect rates are are always the 1-2% they claim they are.  It's a just the way businesses operate. I don't think the defect rate is 50%, it's probably more like 15% though.

how can it be exaggerated if your on your third and so is the guy above you?

People who flock to message boards are most likely people who are more "hardcore" and play the system for longer periods.  Although, I could be wrong and maybe Microsoft is just lying to us. I don't know...

I think I own this one. It's good especially for the price I got it at ($500 at Circuit City on black Friday). My comp is hooked up to it through VGA and my 360 through component.

One thing I wish it had was more inputs (1-HDMI, 1-component). o well, the TV performs well.
