Not sure about the froggy demo, sounds like there is some other problem. What is your frame rate in those other games if you lower the settings and resolution to minimum?Captain__Tripps
why does that matter? it will probably increase. right now i can't test that

[QUOTE="player587"]55oC with the froggy demo. If the problem is the power supply, the gpu could be slowing itslef down because of the lack of energy right?Captain__Tripps
I think its more likely that due to your slow CPU would be causing your GPU not to be operating at full capacity and not needing as much power. But your PSU is a problem, and maybe your lack of one is causing performance problems, im not sure how you would prove that though.

but how can a 3ghz cpu slow down the gpu so badly? with all settings maxed out, when playing assassins creed i get 15, sometimes 20 fps when crusing around the city , when playing world in conflict i get an average of 20fps, with the froggy demo which should run smootlhy i only get 2 fps! i'm about to try cod4

i had two crashes recently, on the first one the pc just reeboted itslef and on the second one the screen got all pixelated and pink and the windows freezed. On most performance guides having 2gb of ram instead of 1gb doesn't help much, unless you are on windows vista. i tried the frogy demo from nvidia which is to the 8800's gpus and it runs with 2fps. isn't that way to low? the 9800gtx+ should be better than the 8800gtx right?

Hi everyone. Recently I bought a geforce 9800gtx+ to upgrade from my 7900gs. Oddly, i can't notice almost any changes in the performance! Should'nt the 9800gtx+ be a lot faster than the 7900gs? I tried games like world in conflict and assassins credd that i had played before with the old gpu and i can only detect some minor improvements. My pc has: 3ghz pentium4, 1 gb of ram, windows xp and a 300 watss PSU. I know i should have a better psu, i'm getting one as soon as possible, but is the low performance only due to the weak psu or could it be something else? I've already installed the latest video drivers from nvidia.

BURNED FINGERTIPS!!!
lool i know this sounds strange but imagine playing bioshock on the PC and couldn't be able to use the left hand to touch the "asdw" buttons to run... or to move the analog stick of a dual shock to play god of war2...!

this is what happened: i was in my kitchen preparing launch and grabbed real tight the top off a pot i thought was cold... oh god my fingers still hurt! how am I suppose to play games in the next 1 or 2 days? btw, tipping with only my right hand is making me crazy xD

what would you do if this happened to you?

yes but even with minimal specs i should be able to run it with low frame rate, and that isn't the case. if i stop walking the frame rate is fine (about 25-45 fps).It seemslike the computer is loading the level and get crushed... the same happened to FEAR because of the textures remember? but the textures in this game aren't that big...
