I'll probably get flamed on for this, but I'm just stating my opinion. I really don't see the PS3 as worth it right now. *Note I said right now. My friend has one, I've seen him play it. Not many good party games. He says he enjoys it, but didn't seem to have much excitement when he said it.
Remember when the PS3 first launched everyone was so excited and said "this is the fall of the 360 and Wii, PS3 is WAY better". Then about a month or two later when the numbers of sales came back everyone said "this is only the first batch of games and developer have to get a feel for the system" Everyone was referencing when the 360 and PS2 first came out they didn't have many good game or games period. But I do remember back then everyone was saying "wait till next year when developers get use to the PS3 hardware and the games really start cranking out. NEXT YEAR THE SYSTEM WAR WILL REALLY BEGIN, NEXT YEAR WE WILL SEE WHO'S WINNING" I heard it everywhere from T.V. to Internet to radio and magazines.
Well November is almost upon us. That will be a whole year that the PS3 has been out. Sony is losing a lot of exclusives. They are coming out on all systems not just the PS3. Example Devil May Cry, GTAIV, Katamari, Castlevania:SOTN. Maybe even MGS4 and even RE5 might come out on all systems later on. Game makers will delay a game so that the date for exclusivity runs out and they can put is for another system and still make bank. Exclusive doesn't mean for one system and one system only, it means for one system for the time being. The games I was excited about getting last year I'm still waiting for. Games I was excited about in 06 totally skipped the year 07. Games like KillZone2, Lair, MGS4, FFXIII, Heavenly Sword, GT5. Like I said I'm sure I will get major hate. This is just may opinion on the current outlook of things. November is coming up. One full year. Is the PS3 where you thought it would be last year?
